chapter XIII.
yeosang sighed dreamily as he watched his boyfriend prepare lunch for them. their dynamic hasn't really changed, granted, it's barely been 24 hours since they made it official. because of this, yeosang believed that seonghwa had been in love with him since the very beginning.
the vampire interrupted his swooning by placing two big bowls of ramen down on the table.
"just for you, my dear." seonghwa cooed as he watched the younger enjoy his meal.
"you're so flirty." the human replied back, chuckling at seonghwa's sappy sayings.
it had been months since the two had started living together and they had only been outside of the house together once. not to mention, this was before they became a couple. yeosang thought it'd be the perfect day— well night— for them to go out, and maybe even have their first date.
"hwa...?" yeosang called to the vampire. seonghwa smiled back to show that he was listening. "...what do you think about going on a date tonight?" he asked timidly.
seonghwa chuckled at his cuteness, "how could i ever say no to you? it's an amazing idea."
"okay, we can go later tonight?" the human asked as he began to clean off the table. seonghwa hummed back in response as he followed the other to the sink.

"where are you taking me?"
"it's a surprise." yeosang answered excitedly as he tugged seonghwa down the street.
the weather was fairly chilly and the streets were dimly lit with the light poles. for yeosang, this felt like a normal night on his way from college, but for seonghwa it felt completely different. it had been a while since he had actually traveled into the human town, and it felt quite different. he enjoyed the calmness it projected compared to the eeriness felt on the mountain.
yeosang quickly came to a halt which interrupted seonghwa's thinking. he looked up and furrowed his brows. it looked like a... neglected field?
he chuckled confusedly, "what's this, yeo?"
yeosang's smile got even wider, "it's a pumpkin patch! well it's kind of abandoned but."
the vampire cooed at the younger's enthusiasm. all though he didn't really understand, he was glad to see yeosang having fun.
"what might one do here for fun?"
yeosang sighed. was this a bad idea? he pouted a bit, "well... we could walk around.. i was thinking we could pick pumpkins to take back and carve? but i mean— if you don't like it then we can leave—"
seonghwa cut the silver haired male's rambling off by placing a kiss upon his head. he didn't mean to make the younger feel insecure about his plans. as long as they were together, seonghwa would do anything for him.
"that sounds splendid, don't worry, darling."
yeosang let out of a breath of relief. he latched firmly onto the vampire's hands and began to drag him throughout the pumpkin patch.
"where is everyone?"
"oh.." yeosang replied sheepishly, "i picked one where i knew a lot of people don't go. i thought it'd be safer for you."
"you're so thoughtful. i adore you." a grin spread across seonghwa's face. he could tell the human had planned this outing for them perfectly.

the two spent most of the time laughing and telling each other stories about their home towns. yeosang was actually looking for good pumpkins, while seonghwa was too busy looking at yeosang.
at one point, they'd got into a hay fight, with yeosang throwing a hand full at the back of seonghwa's head while he was looking at the moon. they surely would be itchy when they got home.
"hwa, can you grab these for me? i found the perfect pair!" yeosang smiled, pointing down to the small cute pumpkins that sat right next to each other.
the vampire swiftly nodded and bent over to grab them, not wanting yeosang to carry them all the way back to the apartment for obvious reasons.
as he was rising back up, his foot slipped on stray hay, causing him to to topple over with the pumpkins. yeosang rushed over to him and raised his head from the ground.
before either of them could say anything, the laugh yeosang had been trying to suppress slipped through his lips.
soon, boy men where nearly crying from laughing. they were just enjoying each other's presence, not caring about their surroundings one bit. it was almost as if they were the only people on earth in that moment.
what they failed to realize was that they actually weren't the only people in the earth, nor the pumpkin patch.
the bat that was once seated on one of the street lights that stood over the field immediately took off into the night sky after seeing them. it was heading toward a place seonghwa was very familiar with...
