18 ; eternity.

chapter XVIII.

72 hours had passed since seonghwa bit yeosang, sending him into a partially deep slumber. yeosang's friends, including san, spent those few days eagerly waiting for his awakening. everyday after classes the friend group would come by the house to check on the newly transformed vampire. san never even thought about leaving his best friend's side during a time such as this.

yeosang tried to decipher what was going on around him, but he could only hear what could be described as fuzzy murmurs. he tried to pry his eyes open, hissing at the sudden light he received that he'd been missing for days.

he heard a gasp come from a person who seemed to be far away from him.

"he is ... woke!" san shook his friend excitedly. he then cleared his throat and gained his composure back. "i will leave you two alone." he muttered before hurrying out the bedroom.

the purple, black, and blue bruises that once covered the boy's body were no longer there. some of the cuts had formed scars over them, while some of them had disappeared completely. the swelling had also largely decreased.

seonghwa watched as his boyfriend slowly tried to open his eyes, reaching to stroke his newly turned black hair. he grinned widely when the younger successfully opened them on the third try.

"y—yeosang." seonghwa muttered. yeosang timidly reached up and grabbed his boyfriend's face, softly running his thumb across his cheek multiple times.

"hwa?" yeosang said confusedly. he had started to gain some of his consciousness back. he could tell that he was laid down in his bed, and that seonghwa was sitting in front of him. the feeling started to return to his body, which left him feeling a tingling sensation all across his skin.

"hwa... why do i feel so weird?" he questioned the older.

seonghwa just bit his lip. he'd been waiting days just to see the boy, now he wasn't sure if he could face him just yet.

"you are no longer a human." was all the older could get out.

"huh." yeosang breathed out as he let his hands fall away from seonghwa's face, and back onto the soft bed. he tried to process what the other had just told him. suddenly the memories came rushing back to him like a tidal wave.

the other day. the encounter he had with seonghwa's father. him agreeing to be turned into a vampire.

he sat up quickly, groaning at the sudden movement. he chose the ignore the pounding headache he had.

"i'm a vampire, like you now?" he pressed. seonghwa just nodded in response.

"what happened after you found me? are you still in danger?"

seonghwa chuckled at yeosang's urgency. it was almost like the boy was never even in a coma for 3 days.

"san managed to assassinate my father and mother, thanks to him, we were able to escape successfully. as for the kingdom, we are trying to make an arrangement where my cousin will inherit the crown, not me." he explained.

yeosang let out a breath of relief. "thank you, seonghwa."

"for what?" the older asked curiously.

the new vampire smiled, "for not giving up on me."

seonghwa nearly melted at the younger's affection. he smoothly wrapped his arm around his boyfriend's neck and inched closer to his face. in a matter of seconds, he had connected their lips. he gently kissed the other, not wanting to harm him anymore than he had been harmed in the last couple of days.

neither of them wanted to pull away in the end. but ultimately, yeosang pulled away first to catch his breath.

"well i do not want to hold you up any longer, how about we go visit with you friends?" seonghwa proposed. yeosang nodded, thrilled at just the mention of his friends.

seonghwa stood up from the bed and propped yeosang's body against him. since yeosang's body was dormant for the past three days, and since he was not used to his newfound powers, it would be hard for him to get around on his own so soon. they slowly made their way into to living room area.

the 6 boys were all seated in the room, patiently waiting for yeosang's arrival. yunho and mingi were holding a banner that read: WELCOME BACK (FROM THE DEAD) YEOSANG! he giggled at his friends' gesture, knowing that yunho and mingi were always extra.

he spotted hongjoong and jongho in the kitchen. it looked like they were rushing to go throw together some type of meal, probably chicken since it was his favorite.

then he finally looked at the oddest pair of them all. san and wooyoung were seated on the balcony, very close together as a matter of fact. wooyoung looked like he was ranting about whatever to san while the vampire just intently listened.

he silently motioned to the pair, to which his boyfriend just replied with a clueless shrug.

"WOO!!!" cheers sounded through the whole apartment. yeosang winced at their loudness, his newly developed super hearing made his ears ring from the loud noises.

"yeoyeo! we were so worried." wooyoung called as he stole yeosang from seonghwa's grip.

"sorry?" he chuckled.

"we don't know what we would've done without you." hongjoong stated truthfully as he set the table. the younger felt tears starting to well in his eyes from the overwhelming love his friends were showing him.

"don't think i didn't see that, jung wooyoung. i will ask you about that soon." the vampire whispered, referring to san.

wooyoung just chuckled nervously, "okay... how about we eat?" he deflected, pushing yeosang away and back in seonghwa's hold.

the boys had spent the next couple of hours having a blast. yeosang had explained to them everything that he couldn't before, hoping that things would clear up a bit. they talked about things from the past, present, and even the what the future had in store for them.

yeosang was snuggled up into his lover's side as he watched his friends debate about a pointless topic over the dinner table.

"are you enjoying it?" seonghwa asked hopefully.

yeosang just hummed in response, he paused for a moment before letting the question that had been clouding his mind for the past few hours slip out from his lips.

"hwa... does this mean that will be together for eternity?"

the older confirmed sweetly, "for eternity."
