chapter XIX, epilogue.

2 YEARS LATER...

time for the couple really felt like it flew by in the blink of an eye once yeosang was no longer human. two years since they had met, and they were still going strong— maybe even stronger than ever. with everyday that passed it seemed like the pair got closer, they themselves didn't understand how that could be possible.

yeosang was surprisingly a really fast learner. he nearly mastered most of the skills that took other vampires many years to perfect in under two years, with an exception of a few incredibly difficult ones. it definitely made it a lot easier for him that he had a very experienced vampire beside him throughout the whole journey.

while yeosang was learning to get used to his new lifestyle, seonghwa continued to sort out the mountain's problems on the side. he had officially made it so one of his cousins who would gladly accept the throne could have his reign. he was more than excited when his cousin accepted his offer— telling him that he'd repay him in any way he wanted.

now, yeosang and seonghwa were sat outside on their patio stargazing, at around 11pm. after yeosang finished up with college virtually, the couple moved from the snug apartment into their own cozy townhouse. both of them absolutely adored their new home, but they couldn't help but reminisce about the life changing memories that they made in the flat.

yeosang yawned as he laid his head on his boyfriend's shoulder. he still had the tendencies of a human at times, which was not surprising to any of them in the slightest.

"are you tired?" seonghwa asked concernedly.

"mhm," yeosang muttered back. seonghwa slid his arm around the younger's waist and began rubbing soothing circles.

"you know what i miss?" yeosang started again.

"what do you miss, love?"

"i miss being able to feel the warm sun on my skin... i really took it for granted." he pouted.

seonghwa frowned. he had never been able to feel the sun since he was a pure blood, but he sympathized with his lover.

"i apologize." he apologized lowly.

"for what?"

"if it was not for me— you would still be able to sun bathe, or even do other activities that were once normal to you..." his frown grew deeper. at times he always remembered what he did to yeosang, feeling extremely guilty.

"hey, no. don't be that way, okay?" the younger interrupted as he cupped the older's face and caressed it lovingly. "because of you, at least i am still even able to think about to sun... you saved my life. human or not." he finished his reassuring speech by placing a kiss on seonghwa's lips.

yeosang never wanted seonghwa to feel guilty for something he consented to. but it was bound to happen, ever since the older vampire came into his life everything changed. sometimes, not for the best— but when he was with seonghwa none of that felt like it mattered.

"thank you," the older
muttered, still hovering over his boyfriend's lips.

the couple fell into a comfortable silence as they looked back up to the dark night sky filled with gleaming stars.
