"Hey, are you busy tonight?" Sodapop asked as he was locking up the DX doors. It was Wednesday night just after their shift at the gas station. It was pretty clear late afternoon beside the odd cloud. It was warm out and the smell of gasoline was strong in the air.

"No, why?" Victoria answered.

"Well, my older brother is cooking dinner tonight for the whole gang, would you like to join us?" Sodapop offered.

"Oh, I really don't to be a bother..." Victoria trailed off.

"Nonsense!" Sodapop exclaimed. "You are welcome over anytime you'd like. Besides, it would be a great opportunity to meet the rest of the gang!"

"Are you sure your brother would be fine with it?" Victoria asked.

"I'm sure." Sodapop gave her a reassuring smile. "Come on, let's get going. Steve, you comin'?" Sodapop directed the last part over his shoulder toward the garage.

Steve came running over to join the two after locking the garage. "It's not that far of a walk, maybe five blocks?" Sodapop told Victoria, to which she nodded her head.

The walk over to the Curtis residence wasn't too eventful. Steve was talking about some car he was fixing that day and how he doesn't know how the owner let it get that bad before bringing it in to get fixed and Sodapop had smacked Steve's bum where he had an oil stain on the back pocket of his jeans causing Victoria to laugh.

Eventually, they made it over to an old, run-down-looking house. There was a metal, chain link fence surrounding the property and the house was painted pale blue, certain spots chipping and rusting. There was a porch that slightly wrapped around the side of the house and a few steps leading up to it.

Sodapop unlatched the gate and held it open for Victoria, Steve following shortly after her and then Sodapop walked through. Steve walked ahead of Victoria up the steps and pushed the door to the house open before walking in. "We're home, Darry!" He hollered. There was a faint "Hi, Steve," coming from the back of the house. Victoria walked in next and then Sodapop.

As soon as you walked inside, you were in the living room. To the left of the door was a couch that sat at least three people along the wall. Across from the door was an armchair and to the right of that was a love seat with a blanket folded and thrown over the back. There was an open doorway into the dining room and if you walked further in, there was a small kitchen. Beside the doorway to the dining room was a hallway that presumably led to the washroom and bedrooms.

There was a coffee table in the middle of the living room with a rug underneath it. All along the walls were photos, rather it is family portraits or random paintings of fruit bowls and such. The dining room furniture seemed to be made out of dark oak wood with a clear polish over top.

"I brought a friend over, I hope you don't mind, Darry," Sodapop said as he kicked his shoes off by the door. "Yeah, that's fine. There should be enough food." Darry said while drying his hands on a kitchen towel. He walked out of the kitchen, through the dining room and into the living room. "Hello," He said to Victoria, sticking out his hand. "I'm Darry." He introduced.

"Victoria. It's a pleasure to meet you." She said as Darry firmly shook her hand. He nodded his head. He was pretty muscular and stood around six-foot-two, with broad shoulders. His hair is a dark brown that sticks out in the front of his head with a cowlick in the back.

"Is Pony home?" Sodapop asked as he walked down the dimly lit hallway.

"Yeah, he should be in y'all's room," Darry answered as he went back into the kitchen.

"What's for dinner, Dar'?" Steve asked following him into the kitchen and opening the ice box. Victoria decided to sit down on one of the couches. The whole house had a very homey vibe and Victoria certainly didn't mind it.
