The rest of the day was chill and went by pretty quickly. Wendy ended up sitting still enough to let her polish dry semi-thoroughly and Victoria helped Carol make up the bed in the guest room where she would be staying. After the bed sheets were on, Victoria put her very minimal clothing into the chest of drawers which had a mirror perched atop it and placed her small amount of makeup and nail polish on top as well. Things like her toothbrush and other toiletries she placed in the shared bathroom.

The guest bedroom wasn't big, but it wasn't small either. You'd walk in and immediately to your right was the chest of drawers and to your left was a wall with a small closet. Across from the door were a set of windows and the wall parallel to the closet had a double bed pushed in the corner opposite the dresser.

Victoria couldn't help but notice the empty corner beside the closet door. How perfect would it look to have a guitar leaning there...

Victoria vaguely wondered if Dally would actually let her use his guitar or if he was just pulling her leg. According to Johnny, no one was allowed to touch that guitar.

It was just after dinner, around seven-thirty, when Victoria pulled out one of the only books she owned and sat on the couch. Not long after she began reading, Kieth walked in and sat down next to her with a beer in his hand.

"What're you reading?" He asked, trying to get a look at the cover.

"Wuthering Heights," Victoria answered.

"What's it about?" He asked, leaning over her shoulder to try to read along.

"To be honest, I don't really know. It's very confusing, there are so many characters and it's hard to keep track of who's related to whom and what not. The book was written in 1847, so sometimes the words don't make too much sense." Victoria explained.

"Oh," Keith hummed, "So what can you make out from what's happening?"

"I'm ninety-eight percent certain that it takes place somewhere in England in the very early eighteenth century, but then it's telling a storey that takes place thirty-ish years prior."

"Hmph," Kieth let out a noise of satisfaction, "Did you end up finishing school?" He asked, changing the conversation.

"Yeah, I did. Did you?"

"Don't laugh, but I failed grade ten twice, but now I'm going to grade eleven when summer is over!" He seemed proud of himself. Victoria smiled before placing a bookmark in her book and turning her body to face him better.

"So tell me, Keith, how did you fail tenth grade twice?" She asked.

Keith shrugged, "I guess it's because I never really showed up, and when I did, I didn't really do my work. But I'm getting better, I swear!" He raised his hands up in defence and Victoria let out a chuckle.

"Well, if you ever need help with schoolwork, you could always let me know and I'll help you." Victoria offered.

"Thanks, that means a lot." Kieth smiled sincerely.

"How come you put all this greasy shit in your hair?" Victoria suddenly asked as she stroked her fingers through his hair.

Keith shrugged once more, fixing his hair where Victoria messed it up. "I guess I just saw a lot of people styling their hair with hair grease so I thought I'd do it too."

Suddenly, Wendy came running into the room with her hair slightly damp. "Vicky!" She squealed and practically jumped into Victoria's arms. Vicky was now Victoria's new nickname given to her by the six-year-old.

"Oh!" Victoria exclaimed, "You're a little hyper, aren't you?"

"Can you and Keith tell me a bedtime storey?" She pleaded with puppy dog eyes. Victoria and Keith looked at each other, unable to stop a smile from forming on their faces.

"Of course," Keith answered on the behalf of both of them.

The three of them got up and walked into Wendy's bedroom and she pulled a book off the shelf for them to read. It was Green Eggs and Ham.

"Ooo, one of my favourites," Victoria said, sitting beside Wendy, Keith on the other side of the young girl.

"That Sam-I-am! That Sam-I-am! I do not like that Sam-I-am!" Kieth read out loud after opening the book.

"Do you like green eggs and ham?" Victoria read the next sentence.

"I do not like them Sam-I-am! I do not like green eggs and ham!" Kieth continued.

"I do so like green eggs and ham! Thank you! Thank, Sam-I-am!" Victoria read the last line of the book and shut it, placing it back in its spot on the bookshelf.

By this point, Wendy was pretty tired and ready to get some sleep finally.

"Good night," Kieth said, kissing her cheek.

"Night, Wendy," Victoria said, kissing her forehead.

Victoria and Kieth walked out and shut the lights with Kieth's arm around her shoulder and they went back to sit in the living room.

The pair continued to watch T.V. on a low volume so as to not disturb Wendy, while Carol went through utility bills at the kitchen table.

"Do you have work tomorrow?" Keith asked.

"Yeah, in the afternoon. Why?" Victoria replied.

"What time do you get off?"

"Umm...six o'clock I think." She answered after thinking for a moment.

Kieth nodded his head at the newfound information. "You wanna go out for dinner? Maybe the drive-in?"

"So, like a date?" Victoria asked.

Keith smiled, "Like a date."

"Alright, I'm down for that." Victoria returned the smile. Keith's smile grew wider, "Okay!"

"If we go to the drive-in, can we watch Rosemary's baby?" Victoria asked.

"Absolutely not," Keith said.

"Why not?!" Victoria exclaimed.

"Isn't it scary?"

Victoria shrugged her shoulders. "I dunno. I read the book and she's like pregnant with the devil's baby or something. I think it's classified more as a thriller rather than a horror, but if you're too scared to-" He cut her sentence short, "I am not too scared to watch it." He said in a defensive tone.

"Whatever you say," Victoria said, getting up and taking her book with her. "I'm going to bed, goodnight." She said and gave Keith a kiss on the cheek.

"Night," Keith said, his eyes following her figure with a look of admiration.
