Victoria awoke the following day to the clatter of dishes and the soft murmur of the television in the background. She let out a quiet groan as she arched her back, a few of her bones popping. As she rolled over on the couch, she felt one of the old springs dig into her side. She immediately recoiled and settled on the floor.

"Morning, sleepy head." Keith greeted.

"Morning," Victoria replied.

"Sorry you have to sleep on the couch, my mom will get the guest bedroom set up later. She just needs to wash the sheets." Kieth apologized.

"S'alright," Victoria murmured as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

"Can I get you anything? Coffee? Tea? Juice? Milk? Maybe something to eat?" Keith offered.

"Coffee sounds good right about now," Victoria answered.

"Coffee it is," Kieth said as he stood up. "How do you take it?"

"Black," Victoria replied.

"Ew." He said.

"You're ew." Victoria joked.

"That's how my mom drinks her coffee," Keith added to his previous statement.

"Yeah, well it tastes good that way. And how do you take your coffee? With seven sugars?" Victoria teased.

"No," Kieth said. "I put two spoonfuls of sugar and some milk."

"Yuck," Victoria said, making an overdramatic grossed-out face. Keith rolled his eyes and walked into the kitchen while Victoria turned her head towards the television where early morning Looney Tunes was playing.

"Is Mickey Mouse on?" He hollered.

"No!" She yelled back, "It's Bugs Bunny."

"Bugs Bunny sucks." She heard him say.

"You take that back! It absolutely does not!"

"It does too! Mickey is better." He argued his prior statement further.

"Nuh-uh, Looney Tunes, in general, is better," Victoria said.

"It is not," Keith said, walking back into the room with two mugs of coffee - one a dark brown and the other a much lighter colour. He handed the one darker in colour to Victoria and kept the other for himself, putting it on the coffee table moment before leaving the room again.

He returned a few minutes later with two plates, a slice of chocolate cake in each. "You fancy some chocolate cake?" He asked and Victoria nodded her head, taking the plate from his hands.

He settled on the floor beside her and picked up his mug off the coffee table and took a gulp of the hot liquid. While Victoria was distracted by the television, Kieth dipped his finger into the frosting of the cake and smudged it onto Victoria's nose.

Victoria turned to glare a Kieth, frosting decorating the tip of her nose, while he struggled to control his giggles. In a very passive-aggressive manner, she wiped the frosting off her nose and smeared it across Kieth's face. This caused both of them to erupt in a fit of laughter.

"Good morning, Kieth!" A small, cheery voice called, followed by the light patter of footsteps. Kieth smiled as he wiped the frosting off his face with a napkin, "Morning, Wendy!" A little girl, who couldn't be older than six years old, jumped into his arms, giving him a kiss on the cheek. Kieth wrapped his arms around the small girl, giving her a peck on the cheek as well.

Wendy looked to be a cheerful, young girl. She had her hair done in pig-tails which were then braided and wore a blue sweater with black leggings, her feet left bare.
