You know who Nightmare, Dream, Killer and Cross belong to. Modern AU.
Incubux was annoyed and worried at the same time. Though he'd never say the worried part out loud. Since he can't teleport, he and Celia walked to their school, but she told him to walk ahead without her, and he wondered where she went. She better not have ditched me. . .
The sudden sound of a car made Incubux halt. A red sports convertible stopped in front of him. The driver, Celia, had her faux hair whip her face and smudged her 'tears' before she spoke. "Get in, loser! We're going shopping!"
"Wha-" He didn't have time to finish as Celia grabbed his arm and pulled him in. He looked around the car. "Wait, who's car is-" He went quiet as Celia sped off.
...
"A store?" Incubux got out of the car.
"Duh. I told you we're going shopping." Celia went inside, Incubux following her. They got a shopping cart and walked around for a little while. "Aren't you getting anything?"
"No." Incubux leaned forward on the shopping cart he was pushing.
"Pff- emo."
"Hey!" Incubux turned to face her, but found a blur instead. Celia was in front of and on the cart, her feet were on the space where you're supposed to put heavy objects. Holding the edge of the cart, she leaned backwards, grinning. A grin Incubux soon wore too.
Regular shoppers stopped in surprise as a high speed shopping cart flew by, two skeletal teenagers riding on it.
...
After the two had actually filled their cart instead of riding it, they appeared at the cash register line to pay. "Hey, do you have any G on you?" The younger, Celia, asked.
"What? Oh, wait. Yeah, I think so, it's in my bag in the car, though. Keys?"
"Here." She tossed them.
"You stay there." Incubux left the store.
"Who's this pretty lady?" A new voice asked. Celia didn't pay attention to it. "Hey?"
She looked up from her phone. "What?"
A human boy, definitely her age, she'd seen him at school. "Who're you?"
"Why should I say?"
"C'mon, why no-" A black and white scarf was wrapped around his neck. "Sh-sh!t. . ." He pulled it off, Incubux didn't wrap it tightly, and fled the other way.
"I could've taken care of that myself."
"Yeah, but you were taking forever." Incubux jingled the small pouch of coins with a clicking sound. After they paid, the two went back to the car. "Seriously, Celia, who's car is this?"
"I donno. Does it really matter?"
"Guess not."
"Next stop, the mall!" Celia said excitedly in an announcer voice. She drove off.
They were at a red light. Incubux sighed. "Remember, 'you and I are gonna conquer the world. Just you wait.'"
"We were babybones when we said that, how do you remember?"
"You remember if you're commenting. And, I don't know, just some memory that stuck with me. How about you?"
"Hm, the time I tried to make cookies with my dad, but failed miserably."
"Cookies? For what?"
"Oh, uh, it was the time I was told you weren't able to teleport. . ." Celia looked ahead and began driving again at the green light.
"Aw-"
"Shut up! You're the one who tried to wipe my 'tears' away when we were little."
"You shut up!"
...
They arrived at a mall next. Celia immediately ran from store to store around the building while her cousin followed again. Incubux wasn't looking as he was assaulted with a pile of clothes. Celia threw some at him. "Try these!"
"Wha-" Incubux was pushed into the changing stall. He came out a few minutes later.
". . . No offense, but you look terrible."
"You're the one who chose these!"
"Alright, alright. Stay there." She left and came back later with another set of clothes. "Try these."
A few more minutes later, he came out again. "You knew I'd like the fur, right?" He was wearing a blended plaid shirt over a white hoodie. Black sweatpants that already matched his sneakers. And like he mentioned, thin fur was on the hood.
"Yes! We're keeping this." She smiled. Incubux changed back. "My turn!" She quickly went into the stall with her own choice of clothing.
She came out wearing a black top, a sleeveless hazel-orange coloured wool coat that hung from her shoulders, matching her golden-orange eyelights. Along with light coloured jeans and beige sandals. "Wait," Her cousin spoke. "How are we going to hide all this when we get home?"
"Oh, uh. . . I'll teleport everything in, and then come inside."
"Okay. We still have more to do."
...
"Wait." Incubux stopped mid-step.
"What?" Celia asked.
"Nice-kreme." He looked over to the grand stand in the outer corner. Various flavours were displayed and practically waiting to be served.
"F**k yeah." After they had gotten their choice of nice-kreme, they found a bench nearby to finish them. Celia checked her phone. "We should go home."
Incubux looked at her screen. "Yeah. Hey, do you want to open everything in my room? You can sleep over there, it'll be like when we were kids."
"Yup."
...
"Want to do that again sometime?" Celia opened the door to their family's shared mansion.
"Absolutely."
