. . . Drip. . . Drop. . .

Cross put his phone away, sitting up on his bed. He looked out the window, thinking. This had been happening a lot more recently, the rain had turned into a dull maroon colour. He was worried at first, then his boyfriend told him about it. It was completely natural, something like rust or other substances that Cross didn't bother remembering would leak into puddles or lakes, then those turn into rain.

The rain sped up drastically, startling Cross a little and changing the lighting in the room into a soft red hue. All the interior lights were off, so Cross' room was tinted with red. ((Lol it started raining when I wrote this))

His phone buzzed. 'Hey Crossy'

Cross smiled as he texted back. 'Hey night'

'I have a surprise for you'

'Really?'

'Yup! I'll be at your door at 10'

'Isn't it raining?'

Cross, confused, got ready for his boyfriend. Knowing that his light coloured clothes might stain, he picked out a black oversized denim jacket to go over his dark grey shirt, dark jeans with white accents, black shoes with white accents, as well as a black leather bag that Nightmare got him that goes over his shoulder.

...

Nightmare knocked on his boyfriend's door, excited. He held the bouquet behind his back. Cross opened the door. "Hey, love." Nightmare smiled at him, bringing the bouquet out from behind his back. Each rose had two colours, red and white. Each rose cost around seven dollars and Nightmare bought a whole lot of them. "They reminded me of you." He stretched out his arm. ((These flowers are real, they're called the Osiria rose))

"That's so sweet of you." Cross accepted them happily, hugging them to his chest.

"Anything for you."

Cross smiled at him, getting on the tip of his toes to kiss Nightmare. "Seriously, no umbrella?" He shook his head, giggling. "C'mon, let me get you a towel. I need to put these in a vase, anyways."

"Alright." Nightmare chuckled. "And you know mine broke that one time." He sat on a stool by the counter.

"You didn't buy a new one?" Cross asked from inside.

"I got distracted because of those flowers, and you."

Cross giggled. "Still though, you would've seen the rain and remembered, wouldn't've you?"

"Maybe."

"'Maybe?'" Cross came back and passed Nightmare a towel. Nightmare quickly dried his hair. Cross laughed. "Aww, your hair's fluffy now."

"Isn't that good?"

"Of course it is!" Cross smiled, kissing his forehead. "Everything to do with you is good. ." He leaned down and kissed Nightmare's properly.

"Thanks, love." He kissed his forehead back. "Are you ready to go?"

"Mhm." Cross held his hand. He grabbed his umbrella on the way out. Nightmare held it as they walked outside. "Where are we going?"

"You'll see."

...

"Oh, just a park?" Cross asked, staring out the passenger seat window.
