"Cro-oss!" Chara called out. He knocked on Cross' door.
"Come in." Cross replied, facing the ceiling and lying in bed.
"This came in. It has your name on it." Chara walked in the room with a package. It had a red ribbon tied in a bow. "What did you order?" He asked, sitting on the bed.
Cross sat up. "Nothing." He replied, confused. He pulled at the ribbon, undoing it. Then, he reached over to his nightstand and grabbed a box cutter to open it.
The first thing he saw was a rose on top of red stripes of tissue paper. He grabbed the rose, setting it on his bed carefully. After settling that aside, and another layer of tissue paper, he was greeted with a maroon envelope stamped with a golden wax seal and twine. He gently opened it, the gold wax breaking. Then he took a bunch of paper, moving it aside to reveal several chocolate bars.
"Can you read it out loud?" Chara asked.
"Oh, okay. . ." He cleared his throat.
"Dear Cross, I hope this package arrived on the right date. If not, happy early, or late, Valentine's Day." Cross paused for a moment before grinning. He recognized the handwriting, even though it was a bit neater. He guessed it was harder to write on an arm with marker.
He continued. "The day I first saw your writing on me was the best day of my life, I felt like I actually belonged. I never thought I'd be interested in love, but it's like you've changed me. I don't mind, though. I love that, and you. I love you so, so very much. You finally made me smile. You know what we both went through, and I adore and admire how you dealt with it. I'm the luckiest person alive to have someone like you, someone so perfect. Nothing could ever change my mind about wanting to stay with you, maybe one day, when we're older, we can finally live together.
"I'm rambling. I adore, admire and love you so much. I can only hope you do the same, but for now, if you haven't already, you should look at your gift.
"Love, Nightmare."
". . . Wow, you have a simp-"
"Don't ruin the moment, Chara." Cross looked at the page again. "'By the way, there's a cookies and kreme chocolate bar for Chara.'"
Chara gasped, beginning to vibrate. "Openopenopenopenopenopen-"
Cross laughed. "Okay, okay!" He removed one more layer of tissue paper and gave Chara his chocolate bar.
"Yay!! I'll leave you alone, now!"
"Heh, alright." He looked back at the box when Chara had left. He noticed something else. How many things did Nightmare fit in here? He dug into the surprisingly deep box. It was a bouquet. He smiled and observed them. They were a silver-white colour, with bold red edges to them (Osiria rose). A note was attached to the base of the flowers. 'I couldn't help but think of you when I saw these.' With a small drawing of a heart.
"Oh, Nightmare. . ." Cross whispered. "Ugh! I can't fucking wait till Summer!" He hugged himself. "I wish he was here now." He groaned. He decided to continue what he was going to send Nightmare for Valentine's Day, though it seemed dull in comparison now, but he knew Nightmare would love anything from him. That made him smile.
...
"Brother, something came in the mail for you."
"Really?" He perked up. "What is it?" He grinned. He never got mail unless it was books.
"It's kind of a heavy package." Dream passed it to him. "And it's decorated."
Nightmare took it, opening it gently right then. Dream sat down beside him, curious. The first thing they saw was a plain envelope. Nightmare put that aside for later. Under the envelope- "Every book I've wanted that isn't available in the country." Nightmare whispered. ". . . Holy shit-!!" He ripped open the envelope.
