"Cross!" Killer dashed towards his friend. "I gotta talk to you, c'mon!" He pulled Cross away from Nightmare.
"Hey!" Nightmare got up, but Killer had already teleported them away.
"What do you want?" Cross asked.
"I've got a challenge for you." He leaned against a pine tree. They were in a random Snowdin.
"Do I get anything if I agree?"
"Probably a hard f**k from Nightmare."
Blush rose to Cross' face, but his expression stayed the same. "Anything else?"
"Hmm, Error'll give you all the chocolate he could find in all the AUs."
"F**k yeah!" Cross grinned. "When does it start?"
"Hm, it's nighttime, almost twelve in the morning. . . We'll start then."
"Well, what is it?" Cross asked. Killer whispered in his 'ear.'
...
Nightmare 'woke up' when Cross sat up on their shared bed. He didn't really sleep, not like he needed it. "Morning, darling." Cross didn't answer, getting off the bed and into the connected washroom. That wasn't too unusual for Nightmare, but a little disappointing. Cross would sometimes not respond until he got coffee. Nightmare decided to get up as well.
...
"Morning, Horror." Cross joined him in making breakfast.
"Mornin'."
At that point, Nightmare was confused. Cross didn't get coffee and he'd always say good morning to him first. He hugged Cross from behind. "Love, what're you two making?"
". . ."
Horror glanced over, confused. "Uh, jus' pancakes. . ." He answered for Cross.
"Oh. Okay." Nightmare wanted Cross to answer. "Sweetheart?"
". . ." Nightmare grumbled. He almost dug his fingernails into Cross' ribcage.
"Morning, motherf**kers~!" Killer walked into the kitchen. "Hey, Cross!" He purposely said.
"Hey, Killer." Cross responded.
"What're you making?"
"Pancakes."
"What- Cross!" Nightmare looked at him. Cross didn't respond. Nightmare squeezed his waist.
"Boss, you're going to snap his spine." Error yawned, walking into the kitchen. He sat down at the table. He knew about the challenge. Nightmare grumbled and loosened his grip, but still held him. "Did you wake up in a mood today?" Error asked.
"No. . . But I'm getting into one." Nightmare grumbled.
"What happened?" He asked innocently.
"Mind telling him, Cross?"
". . ."
"Something wrong, Cross?" Error asked.
"No, I'm alright."
"Crossy?" Nightmare asked.
". . ." Nightmare grit his teeth and went to the living room.
"You're doing great, Cross."
"Yeah, but now he might hate me."
Error scoffed. "Oh, he could never hate you."
"How do you know?"
