An annoying ringing sound tried to penetrate my sleep clouded mind making me feel irritated. After spending a whole night in knowing Teju in the most intimate, physical way, my body was worn out in a good way. I buried my face more into the pillow ignoring the sound replaying the scenes from last night.

After Teju’s first orgasm out in the living room, we had taken things into the bedroom, where I’d stripped off
her lingerie and the rest of my clothes and really gotten down to the business of making her feel so good that no other man would compare.

Luckily, I had five condoms in my duffel bag, kept some time back. I’d been grateful to find them, and we did made good use of each and every one until well after midnight . . . in the bed when I’d fucked her for the first time, then against the wall with her legs wrapped tight around my waist, on the dining room table after we’d taken a break to eat something substantial from room service, in the shower after we’d gotten carried away with the chocolate-covered strawberries I’d requested with our meal, and again with her bent over the mattress while I’d taken her from behind.

With no more condoms left, we both collapsed on my bed, so spent and sated that we crashed from sheer physical exhaustion.

Last night I played along her game, of course, not by choice. I let her had her fantasy of sex-with-a-stranger without giving our last names but this morning I am definitely persuading her to go on a date with me, not to hook up again but to really get to know each other.

The annoying sound again came and I finally opened my eyes. The curtains were drawn so I had no idea if it's morning or night. I looked at my side where I had seen Teju last but the spot was empty. Either is has already worn up or she shifted to her bedroom last night.

Ping...

The sound came again and since I was more conscious now, I realized the voice is coming from my mobile alerting me of incoming messages.
I picked up my mobile and first thing I notice was its 10 in the morning. I never sleep this late. Then I Checked the messages and all were from airport giving updates that my flight has been rescheduled for afternoon today.

I woke up from bed, wear my jeans and went to tell Teju about the rescheduling as we were on the same flight back to San Francisco but living room was quite and empty. I went towards her bedroom. The door was already open, and when I glanced inside and saw that the bed was still neatly made and her suitcase was nowhere to be found, my stomach pitched with dread because I instinctively knew that she was gone.

I came back to the living area and found a hand written note on the dining table. Karan you were exactly what I needed and more. Thank you for an incredible night. Your Valentine, Teju

Just a small note, no last name, no number nothing, seems like I just got ghosted. I felt my chest tightening and disappointment feeling me. Yesterday night I felt that our connection is more than just physical. I went to my room, packed my stuff and went to airport hoping that I may find her as she might still be on the airport waiting for the flight.

I reached the airport and headed to the terminal of our rescheduled flight. Teju was still not here, but then I am too early for the flight so I ordered something to eat and sat on the chair waiting for her.

I kept looking at each woman who passed me, hoping one of them might be Teju but that didn't happen. When our flight announcement happen, I stood last at the line to see all people who are boarding but still couldn't find her.

“Sir, if you are on this flight, you need to board the plane,” the woman at the ticket counter said to me. “They will be locking the doors in the next five minutes to get ready gor takeoff.” I nodded reluctantly and finally walked onto the plane, my gaze scanning all the passengers’ faces as I made my way to my seat, to make sure I hadn’t missed seeing her, but she wasn’t on the flight.

After stowing my duffel, I settled into my chair and buckled my seat belt, and the plane taxied down the runway forcing me to accept the fact TEJU DIDN'T WANT TO BE FOUND.

OKAY OKAY, before you all start giving me gaffe, I am already apologizing for giving such a short chapter but then this is the turning point of the story and I promise to give a long one next.
