THE HALF OF IT

Part - 23

Finally the day is here when I and Ruhi will meet Karan's family. As far as Karan had told me about them, they seem nice but still how to get my mind at peace and my nerves under control. A car honk took me out of my thoughts and I checked it was Karan, so I called Ruhi and we made our way to his car.

Seeing us coming out, Karan got out of his car and first opened back door for Valentine which had baby seat put in it and once she was settled he opened passenger side door for me. Huhh, always a perfect gentleman making my heart flutter.

Ruhi was literally beaming with happiness on the thought of meeting her grandparents and had been super excited and enthusiastic. Since morning she had been asking me when will Karan come to pick us up and now when we are finally in car her question has changed to When will be reach, which is asking after every 5 min.

As soon as she saw Karan, she had literally ran to him like she does each time she sees him and they shared there innumerable kisses and hugs as if they haven't just met yesterday but days after making me roll my eyes but then who can dare to come between daughter and father.

As Karan has said and as far as I have stalked him on Social media (okay, yes, I accept I did stalk him but hey, he is the father of my daughter and I needed to be sure) who are you lying to mocked my subconscious which I ignored. So yeah I came to know that his father too is in business and he started the company intially which Karan took to new heights. The area Karan told where his parents live is one of the expensive n posh places and maybe they might have an apartment or house there which I am still not sure of.

As we were getting closer my nervousness was increasing and the excitement of Ruhi was increasing too. Karan could sense both so he said to Valentine to look for a house having a big garden and a fountain, which would keep her busy and held my hand interwining our fingers.

"Why are you so nervous?" He asked.

"I don't know but I just want your parents to like me as I am the mother of your child after all." I said with a shrug.

"Tejasswi my parents are equally excited to meet you both and just be yourself and I am sure they are going to love you and adore our little princess."

Finally we reached a house, no actually a big mansion with iron gates and Karan entered some code and gates got opened. The only words that came to my mind to define it was was splendid.

Ruhi squealed with excitement as soon as we got her our of the car and ran towards fountain. Karan went behind her and said to her,"Princess we will later come outside and have lots of fun, first let's go inside and meet everyone." And as usual Valentine agreed to whatever Karan said in one go. Sometimes I seriously wonder what magic Karan has that Ruhi agrees with him without any tantrums but then is there a girl on planet who can deny Karan anything or say no, including You, mocked my subconscious.

Karan rang the bell and some maid open the door. Damn, how rich are they my mind wondered making me more nervous if I will fit with them or not. Karan lead the way and took us too a massive living room with beautiful sitting arrangements and there were his parents and sister.

As soon as Ruhi saw them she clung to my leg and Karan looked at hee reliving the moments of their first meet. His mom came to us and Karan hugged her and kissed her cheeks. She then came to me,"It's so nice to meet you finally.", she said hugging me. For a second I stiffened and finally returned her hug feeling the motherly warmth I have missed all my life.

His father came next and said welcome to our home, let's all sit. Ruhi was still clunged to my leg so just as Karan did, his mom too bend down and touched hee head with her hand and I could see her eyes glistening with happiness and unshed tears.
