THE HALF OF IT

Part - 25

Someone tugging on the duvet and calling "Mumma,Mumma" brought me out of my deep slumber sleep.

I opened my eyes to find Ruhi standing at the corner of my bed and waking me up. Seeing her I got startled and try to sit but soon realized there is hand on my body and shit, did Karan just slept here last night and we are naked under the duvet. So I slowly sat up removing his hand adjusting duvet and asked her,  "Hey Valentine, how are you up so early?" I looked at my watch and realized that she is not early, I am late.

"Mumma, I woke up on my own and Even brushed my teeth on my own." She said showing me her teeth.

My movements woke up Karan too and listening to Ruhi's voice he too carefully sat up covering himself. Seeing him Ruhi's face lit up and she Said, "Papa you here, gooood morninnngg" She sing song and tried getting up on bed to reach him.

Before she could execute that Karan Said,"Good morning Princess, did you slept well?"

She nodded her head happily and I hurriedly added, "Ruhi as you are a big girl now, so you should go and bath and get ready for school. Mumma is coming to your room soon. You go and start."

She nodded and left not before asking Karan to have breakfast with her. As soon as she went out I asked Karan why didn't he left yesterday night?

"Sorry, Teju it's just that I didn't realized when I dozed off."

I was yet not over his words of yesterday and now this. Seems I really need to take a decision. Standing up I got ready hurriedly and went to Ruhi's room.

Once done we three settled on the dinning table and I gave Ruhi her breakfast and started making her lunch while Karan made coffee for himself.

"Papa will you drop me to school today" Ruhi asked but before Karan could reply I said, " No, Ruhi. Mumma will drop you to school."

She looked at Karan with puppy face, which of course she has learnt from him and said, "Papa, Please."

To my surprise Karan replied, "Princess, Papa will drop you some other day, today Papa have lots of work and have to go early, but I promise to take you out for ice cream tonight." And that was enough for Ruhi to smile and agree.

Once done Karan kissed Ruhi and I took her bag and we went out and I told Karan to lock the door when he  leaves.

After dropping Ruhi to school when I came back I didn't expected Karan to be still here but found him sitting on couch waiting for me and all the images from yesterday came back rushing to me.

When he said he want to talk I could feel emotions in his eyes, I so wanted to avoid it but last night when we were together, his each touch, and his eyes each time he locked them with me were showing and making me feel the depth of his emotions.

I so wanted to seduce him and make him forget about them but he was determined to bring them in open. After the breath taking oragasm he gave me, I nearly dozed off but came back to senses when I heard the sound of crinkling of condom packet. Each time he complimented me, my breath hitched and by heart beat faster.

When he finally said the three words my heart stopped for a second and I really panicked but his next words clam me down and with my thoughts drifting in scary direction and he wrapped at my back, I really dozed off untill in morning Ruhi found us.

I can't let Ruhi get confused and I won't ever want my daughter to go through what I did so seems like the hook up lover phase too have to end now as I can't let emotions get involved and ruin it all. I know at some point Karan will leave me, like all other men in my past as I know I can never be enough so it's better I stop myself now before it's too late.

"Tejasswi", Karan's voice brought me back.

"Come sit here, we really need to talk and clear all this." He said. I walked to the couch and sat beside him. He stood up and sat in front of me kneeling down taking my hands in his.

"Tejasswi, I really love you, and not just because you are the mother my princess but also beacuse of who you are. I fell in love with you the first time I saw you at the airport. You took my breath away. When you asked for one night stand, I wanted it to be more and was determined to get your number and date you but you disappeared." He chuckled as if remembering that night and I too smiled.

"Tejasswi, please give us a chance. I want to wake up with you each morning, having breakfast with you and Ruhi. I want to go to bed with you and want the right to hug and kiss you and call you Mine in front of the whole world. I love how you get excited just as Ruhi when I say Ice Cream. I love the fact that you are so sensible and mature and yet so pure at heart. I enjoy being with you both. You are THE ONE for me and I want you to be mine forever. I want to build a home and family with you and give you and Ruhi all the love and care. Please be my Forever Teju."

Karan and I both had tears in our eyes but a battle was going between my mind and my heart. My mind was telling me to save myself and My little Valentine from the hurt that might happen if things went wrong while my heart was coaxing me to take the risk and trust Karan with my everything but my mind won the battle and "I Can't..." is all I could say.

Hearing my words Karan took a deep breath and his eyes showed how hurt he was, " Teju, I still wanted you when I didn't knew if there is any chance after our one night stand so I know I can stand this long distance but now it's on you to give us a real chance or not. You will be the one to take a step forward this time as I have done all to show you that you can trust me. I will be always be there for you are Ruhi and I am not going to stop coming here just because you want our realtionship to end. I will still be there for you and my daughter. Only you can overcome your fears now. I love you." With this he stood up kissed my forehead and went to dinning table to grab his keys. Before going out he looked at me with hurt visible on his face and my eyes brimming with tears and then he was gone.
