Finally it is the day of Ruhi's birthday. I and Shruti have been decorating the house while her husband Varun took care of Tanya and Ruhi. Shruti have been giving me looks since she arrived as if she want to talk about something. Frustrated with this I finally said," Shoot your questions Shruti. Your silent looks are annoying now."

Shruti smiles sheepishly and finally said," How are things with Karan?"

My heart skipped a beat just listening his name. I started telling her about how Ruhi and Karan are bonding over call regularly. "Ruhi is always excited to talk to him and waits eagerly fir his calls and becomes a enthusiastic cutlet while telling about her whole day and everything. Karan too listens too everything she wants to say patiently irrespective how irrelevant her talk is."

Avery raised an eyebrow " So you mean only Karan and Ruhi are progressing while you and Karan don't have anything between you both."

The turmoil going inside feels like will explode and I really need to talk to someone and other than Shruti I have no one to share my thoughts and feelings with so taking a deep breath I decided to her it all. "Umm... few days back after Karan and Ruhi talked, he called later at night to talk to me." I looked it her curious eyes and added "We started off by talking casual thing and then things took a turn...umm you know we end up taking and doing stuff"

She tilted hee face one side and said," Is it what I think? You guys had phone sex? "

"Yeah"

"Was it good?"

"Shruti" I said sternly.

"So it was good so when are you guys actually having sex"

I sighed. " I didn't talked to him after that, he called and messaged but I ignored them all. I am happy fir the realtionship that Ruhi and Karan are building but I really don't want to get in any kind of realtionship with anyone."

Shruti's eyes grew soft. She came near me and took my hands in her. "Teju, you can't let past rule your life. Karan has not given you a single reason to be worried, let things go with the flow. Don't stop your heart or body from getting what they want. You can't let your fears ruin your present and happiness."

"I am sacred if we get into a realtionship and what if it won't work out? I don't want my heart broken again. Now I have Ruhi too, and I can't risk getting complicated with Karan."

"Did he asked for a realtionship or anything like that?" Shruti asked.

"No"

"So why can't you just go for SEX FOR SEX SAKE. Don't get feelings involves and make in clear before hand that you just want a physical relationship and if things don't work out then it shouldn't effect Ruhi."

Shruti's word made sense to me as my body really wanted it too but before I could reply the doorbell rang and the snacks I ordered came. Me and Shruti went back to arranging and decorating things with my mind buzzing with whatever Shruti said.

Once done, Shruti went to her house to change and bring kids and I too got ready. As the doorbell rang I ran towards her wanting to see Ruhi's expression seeing all the arrangements especially the big mickey mouse bouncy house.

As soon as I opened the door I froze seeing Karan standing there with a sexy smile. My mouth turned in a O seeing him and I blurted, "It's you but it's still early. The party is later"

Karan gave me an amused look and said," I wanted to wish Ruhi before everyone comes and she gets lost in games and all. She haven't seen me for a week now so I wanted to ensure that she gets comfortable around me before the party."

Slowly my mind registered what he was saying and I gave him a nod.

"Can I come in?" He asked still amused at my reaction.

Finally I got out of my hazy thoughts and stepped side giving him space to enter, " Yeah, sure. Actually I thought it was Shruti with Ruhi and Tanya so seeing you just took me by surprise."

As he walked in I noticed his hands full of bags,"Karan how many gifts have your bought? Ain't this too much"

Karan smiled shippeshly as if caught doing something naughty but that look on his face melted my heart. Rubbing the back of his neck he said," I didn't go overboard, some gifts are from my family.

The innocent statement made me feel guilty as I didn't invited his parents nor thought about it. My parents have never been part of my or Ruhi's life which never made too his parents into consideration. " I am sorry I didn't invited them"

"Oh it's okay, they understand, don't worry." He said. "Though are excited to meet Ruhi and you and I hope that happens soon but I can wait."

His words always bring a smile to my face and he started coming towards me,"Tejasswi why have you been avoiding..."

Before he could complete or come more close Ruhi's happy voice came from the other side of the door and I opened it.

She was wearing a beautiful princess dress with matching Hairband. "You are looking beautiful Valentine." I said and she smiled. Then her gaze went to Karan and she looked confuse. Karan came to her bent down and wishes her. " Happy Birthday, Ruhi, you are looking adorable like a princess." Listening his voice made Ruhi conformable and she smiles wide and hugged hum.

Karan seems to be frozen in the moment and hugged her back, his eyes glistening.
