Sophia

I don't know why I'm so nervous.

I can't seem to think straight when I'm around Hunter. I'm so not used to this.

To be told I'm gorgeous or beautiful. I thought being single was good enough for me, but Hunter seems sweet and caring and I can feel some kind of energy between us.

This isn't me.

I don't go out to clubs often or go on dates, but when I'm with Hunter, I want all that. To be with him, holding his hand and spending time together.

I texted the girls earlier to let them know I have a date with Hunter tonight, they could barely contain their excitement that I, Sophia Miller, was going out on a date.

Ivy told me to be myself and if I needed to get out of it she would come and pick me up and Cassie told me to raid her wardrobe for something dressy and told me to have fun, adding a wink face emoji to the end of her text.

Now, sat in his car, I'm so close to him that I can smell his woody, masculine scent and I'm pretty much freaking out.

I don't own anything fancy to wear on a date with a club owner, but luckily Cassie had this red dress that she has never even worn.

I'm hoping it isn't too short or too revealing, but the way Hunter was staring at me when I opened my apartment door to him, I think he liked my outfit choice.

We pull into a parking space not too far from the restaurant, and Hunter hops out of his seat and dashes around to the passenger door to me.

"I've never been here before, but my friend recommended it to me. I hope you like it." Hunter states as he offers me his hand.

"I'm sure it will be great." I look up at him and I'm unsure whether I should keep holding onto his hand, or to let go.

Hunter decides for me and laces our fingers together as we walk towards the entrance. Butterflies errupting in my stomach just from his presence.

I smile to myself and look down.

"Reservation for Mr Anderson." He tells the host.

"Of course Mr Anderson, please follow me." The host replies.

I don't miss the way she eyes Hunter up and down and a slight anger comes over me.

How can she look at a man like that knowing he is here on a date, holding my hand no less. Shaking my head, I push the thoughts away as I smile at Hunter pulling out my chair before I sit down.

"Can I get you some drinks to start?"

"Sure, we will take a bottle of red for the table please, and a large still water." Hunter orders for us.

I watch the host leave us and I glance at Hunter, who is already staring directly into my eyes. He hasn't been able to look away since we stepped out of his car.

"Thank you for coming out with me tonight Sophia, you look beautiful." Hunter says, and I can feel my cheeks getting rosy again.

He suddenly reaches forward and palms the side of my face, tucking my hair behind my left ear.

My eyes flick down to his lips. I lick mine, thinking what it would be like to kiss him again.

"Stop looking at my lips like that beautiful or I'll have to kiss you right now." Hunter whispers into my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

Before I can reply, our drinks arrive and the waitress takes our food order. I decided on a delicious ham and mushroom carbonara, and let me tell you, it was the best carbonara I've ever eaten.
