They were slaves in the 19th century.
Used as a tool and as an accessory.
Society was too blinded to see,
and hear our fellow women's plea.

No one dared to speak,
as they heard the distant shreak,
the atrocity was at its peak,
and just the thought of it makes me sick.

So, travelling a few years forward,
society was no longer a coward,
but the discrimination sends us backward,
fighting and resisting was extremely hard.

Not all jobs were available.
Education was deprived and unreachable,
they weren't allowed to have a life at all,
stuck inside a man's den, miserable.

Now, we are progressing.
We are allowed to continue dreaming,
we are able to keep achieving,
equality is now nearing.

Looking at the changes,
through the years and ages,
we have been through many challenges,
but we stood back up with more chances-

More doors for more opportunities.
We have the support of most societies.
No more slavery, just peace,
and a life that we can seize.
