009-A Writer's Oath

I was born to write,
sworn to do what's right,
with the stroke of my pen,
I will step into the light.

To let my voice be known,
to make noise through the ink I've sewn,
and to speak for the lives,
that are smothered and blown.

That is my mission.
I will continue to write my vision,
of a world that chooses peace,
over chaos and discrimination.

I am a writer with pride,
a person with nothing to hide,
and I swear to God,
that I will keep my mind open-wide

I promise to write truthfully,
to spread awareness and glee,
and to give a helping hand,
to those who need me.

This is my oath as a writer.
