16 January 1864 (The death of the 25th King of Joseon)

"Go ahead."

"You don't have to tell me." Myul Mang responded with a nod. The leaves made crunching sounds with every step the immortal took.

They have been existing for as long as they can remember that everything's become dull. At least for the immortal who brought doom to the living. It was fun at first. Even without knowing the reason why seeing humans suffer is amusing. However, it isn't so entertaining anymore.

It's time for Cheoljong to die. And he deserves it. Myul Mang's existence may have led to tragedies, but it was human greed that killed Yang Sun-i.

She was the love of Cheoljong's life. They killed her because she was from a low class family. She must, in no way, be associated with the king.

They poisoned her. Thinking they'll be able to manipulate the king better if he no longer uses his time to miss her. Myul Mang watched it when it happened. The immortal also knew, they made a mistake.

Killing Yang Sun-i won't make the king forget her. But such is her fate. She will die before the king even if it's not through poison.

It's written. Her death has been decided even before she was born. It was only a matter of how. Most of the time, the humans are responsible of the how.

Had they not killed her and she died naturally, would Cheoljong's fate change? Myul Mang can only guess. What's certain is that the king will die. And he will leave taking his misery with him.

"You wasted your life so they don't see the need to keep you alive." Myul Mang said as if Cheoljong would hear it.

The king, after learning how Yang Sun-i passed, drowned himself in his grief. He did things that wasn't what a man of his stature should be seen doing. He was dead long before they decided to end him.

8 March 1365 (The death of a Queen, most beloved)

Princess Noguk, by all means, is a lovely lady. She had in her a strength not every woman possessed. Her character is definite. She knows what she wants and she made sure she gets it.

Be it trust or love, she is someone who didn't need to choose just one. She can have both. And she got them.

It is customary for prospective rulers of Goryeo to marry Mongolian princesses. And following that custom, Noguk was wed to Gongmin. Two years later, Gongmin became king and Noguk, a queen.

It was a marriage of convenience. That's the truth. Noguk had a decisive influence on the king's political path. Yet, she didn't let it end there.

The queen supported the king's efforts to reform Goryeo. Even if it meant going against Yuan, where she originally was a part of. By doing so, she was able to open the king's mind and soon gained his trust.

Queen Noguk and king Gongmin started a harmonious relationship not long after she gained his trust. The kind of love that they formed had a firm foundation. She became his pillar.
