Chapter song: Escape by Kehlani
____________________________________________Tyler was running late for breakfast. I believed however that it was deliberate. He was taking our talk from last time a little too serious.
Or maybe he's running late just like the other day.
But I highly doubted it. And as if to prove me right, my phone pinged right that minute.
Hey. I'm sorry but I can't make it to breakfast today. Gotta do something on campus so I'm leaving early.
I sighed and didn't even bother replying. Rather, I opened the group chat I had with the girls and asked them if they could pick me up.
At least Tyler knows to leave you for us sometimes.
-Shay.We'll be there in a few.
-Lore.I just sent a simple okay and got ready. When the girls finally texted that they were around I stepped out. Entering the back of the car, good mornings rang out and I responded.
"Ah I miss this! Do we have enough time to stop at Rickys for breakfast?" Lore asked as she turned around a corner. I shrugged in response.
Rickys was a breakfast place that was opened twenty-four-seven for specials like us who didn't mind eating breakfast meals all throughout the day. Before I met Tyler, the girls and I always went there.
"Hell yeah!" Shay replied. She then turned in her seat to face me.
"Where's Tyler though and why did he miss breakfast?" She asked.
"He had something urgent to attend to on campus." They easily accepted my answer and no more questions about Tyler and I were asked through the remainder of the ride.
Stepping out of the car, we entered and quickly grabbed a table. A waiter came around for our orders and I remembered that I needed something from the girls.
"So hey...I need silhouette photos of you girls." I started and Loretta answered.
"Done!"
"Whenever you're ready let us know and we're all yours." Shay followed with an excited glint in her eyes. I rolled my eyes in amusement.
They were always picture hungry, those two.
"Thanks-"
"Hey isn't that Tyler?!" Shay cut me off and waved energetically at someone behind me. I turned and truly Tyler stood a couple of steps away like a deer caught in headlights.
The girls beckoned him over and his gaze slid to me briefly before he came closer. Loretta quickly stood up from beside me to sit beside Shay leaving her seat open for Ty.
