(ep 1. pt 2)
Soon it was lunch. I usually sat outside but the cheerleaders were there hyping people up. I carried my tray and saw Mike and Dustin headed towards the Hellfire table.
"Guys!" I whisper yelled. "Can I sit with you just for today? The cheerleaders are being cheery again," I asked.
"Sure. Just don't talk and don't get Eddie mad," Mike sighed.
I've never actually met Eddie Munson. Mike and Dustin practically worship him, more Dustin than Mike.
"Shit, he seems really revved up today," Dustin said as we watched
"He's always revved up. We'll just act casual," Mike sighed.
"Casual?" I looked at them.
"Yeah. Casual," Dustin looked worried. We walked over to the table silently.
I slid in the empty seat next to Mike and felt multiple pairs of eyes on me but ignored it.
"Society has to blame something. We're an easy target," The guy on the other side of Dustin said.
"Exactly. We're the freaks because we like to play a fantasy game. But as long as you're into band or science or parties... Or a game where you toss balls into laundry baskets!" Eddie stood on the table and yelled.
"You want something freak?" Jason asked. Eddie just made a face at him and smirked.
"It's forced conformity. That's whats killing the kids!" He scared a junior by jumping off the table. "That's the real monster." He sighed and sat down. I had to hand it to him. He
"So, uh, speaking of monsters, uh, Lucas has to do his, uh balls-in-laundry-baskets game. So... He's not gonna be able to make it to Hellfire tonight. And I know there's no way we can beat your sadistic campaign without him. So, me and Mike, we were talking, shooting the shit, and we were thinking that maybe we might..." He paused, looking scared.
"Postpone," Mike jumped in.
"What? Postpone?" The guys at the table yelled. I snorted a bit. They were like little kids. They began arguing about the subs and the championship game.
"This year is going to be my year. I can feel it. '86, baby. And you know what that means? It means that you boys are the future of Hellfire," Eddie laughed. He basically told Dustin and Mike to find a sub for their game. They walked away and then all eyes were on me. Eddie slid into Mike's empty seat.
"And who might you be?" He grinned at me.
"I'm Charlie, Mike's sister," I rolled my eyes.
"Oh yeah. Wheeler said he had older sisters. I'm guessing you're the one that doesn't have the stick up her ass. Are you interested in some D&D?" He asked in a low voice.
"No, but my mom wants me to come to your stupid campaign tonight. Mike needs to be home before nine or whatever," I said as the bell rang. I got up and left before Eddie could say another word to me.
I had two more classes to go before I could go home. Then it was back to school for babysitting Mike.
----
A/N: Opinion time again. Eddie in this scene was like super badass and stuff because he really doesn't care about how people perceive him. He can face Jason and he can scare people but I feel like he is such a softie underneath. He got upset that the game would be postponed and that was adorable.
