All I'm saying is Nancy drives like a maniac when she needs to get something done.

I closed my eyes and all of a sudden we were at the Creel house dropping Max, Lucas and Erica off.

"Be safe okay? Promise? I can't lose you too," Max said while hugging me tightly.

"I promise," I whispered. I didn't know if it was true or not. We were facing something we had no control over. I looked over at Lucas. "Protect her."

He just nodded. "I will."

I gave Erica a bottle of pepper spray.

"Give them hell kid," I nodded at her.

"You bet your ass I will," Erica grinned.

I watched them walk into the house then disappear from my sight.

I walked back into the RV sadly. Dustin was talking quietly to Eddie. Steve and Robin were handing out gear to us while Nancy drove off. Robin then moved to sit next to Nancy in the passenger seat and I glanced at Steve with a smirk on both of our faces.

It was quiet and I got an eerie feeling in my stomach.

"Guys, all I want to say is, I have a confession to make," I looked at Steve. "That one time I was at your house sleeping over, I accidentally dropped the Farrah Fawcett spray into the toilet and I didn't know what to do so I put it back and dried off the toilet water."

"Charlie, I accidentally ripped your Beatles poster and I replaced it with the same one but as I was replacing it, I accidentally broke your music box so I shoved my gum in it so it wouldn't open," Robin rambled.

"I had a thing with Billy for a month after graduation," Steve blurted out.

"I kissed Jenny Cunningham once in middle school," Nancy shouted from the front seat.

Eddie sighed. "Guys this is hard to admit, but I really, and I mean really really liked that town librarian. God, what a MILF."

"I'm traumatized now, okay? Leave Ms. Doris out of this," Dustin spoke up. "And don't tell Mike this but one time, we were at a sleepover, right? And I heard him and El in the bathroom together. God, it was awful. I just needed to piss. They weren't even doing anything but it looked like they were trying to bite each other's faces off. So I cried myself to sleep and left early the next morning."

"I didn't need to know that about my brother," I stuck out my tongue in disgust.

"At least it's better than walking in on mom and dad fu-" Nancy started.

"Okay!" Steve interrupted. "Enough happy family memories. Time to save the world. Again."

"Steve, you sound like you're ready to retire at twenty," Robin laughed.

"I'm ready to live in a retirement village with all of the old people and eat prunes and drink milkshakes that help you shit," Steve sighed.

"Don't tell me," Dustin laughed. "You'll be playing bocce ball and doing water yoga at the piss filled pool. You'll invite us over for family weekends and we'll have to roll you to the dining hall and clean your dentures."

"Shut the hell up," Steve laughed. "I'm not that old. I'm fine with the bocce ball though."

"I just can't imagine you with white hair, a visor and some aviator glasses arguing with some other old guy about whose ball won," Robin laughed.

"Well, maybe I won't live that long," Steve sighed.

We all got quiet. Jokes were made but it also pulled us back to the harsh reality of everything.

If the government had just listened the first time a few years ago, none of us would be in this situation. Billy would be alive. Chrissy, Fred, and everyone else we lost.

Max wouldn't be in danger and I would be graduating with honors, living with my best friends and going off to college.

We drove in silence until we got to the trailer park. Eddie was fidgeting with his hands and I took hold of them.

"We'll be okay," I whispered to him.

But even as I said that, I felt unsure. I felt as it the world was crashing around me. I felt absolutely nauseous.

Nancy parked extremely close to Eddie's trailer.

We did steal someone's house from here.

I helped Dustin gather everything and we all left the RV.

We stood outside for a few minutes just staring at each other.

Robin, Steve, Dustin, Eddie, Nancy, and I.

We were all young and definitely doing something extremely risky. We might die.

But I wanted to live. I looked over at Steve and Robin who were holding hands. Dustin was leaning on Steve and Eddie was on the other side. I was next to him and Nancy and Nancy couldn't stop looking at Robin.

We had everything to lose. But we had each other.

And I wouldn't want to go through this with anyone else.
