(ft. a lot of emotional flashbacks)

The house shook and I could hear Dustin, Robin and Eddie screaming downstairs. Light cracked through the floor, threatening to expose the upside down.

Immediately, Lucas jumped up and helped Nancy pull Max out of the way.

Steve managed to punch Jason so hard he fell unconscious.

Finally, we were free to go. Steve helped Lucas and Nancy with Max before throwing Jason over his shoulder. Erica and I grabbed the lanterns and ran down the stairs.

Jenny Cunningham was being held by Robin, who sat on top of her.

Dustin had unloaded the gun and Eddie was pacing around saying even more volatile curse words than before.

The dude with the arm was passed out at the landing a few feet from the front door.

"God, what a mess," Erica spoke up.

"You're crazy, Charlie!" Jenny screamed. "I'm going to get all of you arrested."

Steve placed Jason down next to the baseball cap guy and readjusted his vest. The ground was still shaking and I tried to calm down but couldn't.

The fight was over but I was internally panicking.

"Nancy, you need to knock me out. I don't know why this is happening. I can feel the connection getting stronger," I spoke up.

"What the hell is happening?" Jenny screamed.

"I can do it," Nancy replied. "But she's next." She pointed to Jenny on the floor. "Then we need to get Max to a hospital."

Nancy pointed her hands at me and I felt myself feeling hazy. Eddie caught me as I fell to the ground.

The last thing I heard before I passed out was Jenny screaming about how Nancy was insane.

I was in another memory. This time I was younger. Maybe four or five years old. But I could see Mike as a baby being held by my mother. Nancy was next to me and we were watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarves on the television.

My mother was trying to have a hushed conversation on the phone.

"I understand the consequences, sir. I really do. But I have a family now. My son is only a few months old and the girls are still too young to really understand anything," She paused. "What happened with Henry was a mistake, Martin. But I refuse to volunteer my children. And from our past discussions, I know you have other children that have been volunteered. So please, take the money I'm offering and I told you that I will let you put the Esoteria dampeners on the girls, I just won't let you experiment on them. They're my children."

She looked over at Nancy and I and then down at baby Mike. My mother had tears in her eyes.

"I didn't know he was dangerous. He didn't tell me much," She continued to speak. "Does he even know about the girls? Does he know what kind of impact he has left on my family, Martin?" My mom paused, her face twisting into a sour expression. "You promised me that my husband would never find out. And my only other conditions are that you leave my girls out of this. That is my final offer. I hope tomorrow is the last time I will ever have to see you again, Dr. Brenner."

I was still watching the movie with Nancy, well, I was watching the television screen and listening to my mother.

Nancy didn't seem to notice the conversation. She focused on the prince in the forest. I went back to the movie.

A few minutes later, my father came home. He smiled at us as he walked in the door. He seemed happier.

Nancy ran up to hug him and I did the same.
