Oh my gosh, this is it. How is it here?
This scene in the movie is only the length of approximately 6 minutes and 21 seconds but it takes so many more minutes than that to write it haha.
(Okay, I'm back after writing it all, and NO DUH it took forever to write it's NEARLY 2800 WORDS FOR GOSH SAKE haha.)
Well, here goes nothing.
Enjoy! :)

Everyone eagerly crowds around Jack and David as they wait for them to tell everyone the news, while Katherine hangs back next to the entrance of the New York World building, watching Jack and David, smiling. Jack whispers in Les's ear, then hoists him onto his shoulders. He faces the crowd, smile on his face. Both of his fists and Les's fists are raised in the air.
"WE BEAT 'EM!" he shouts with joy, louder than he has ever shouted in his life.
The crowd erupts in deafening noise all around them.
They did it. They won.
Well. It was a compromise. But still.
And even then, it was a compromise for the newsies. For everyone else? This was the first step for better rights for everyone. The newsies won by proving that a negotiation with the power-holders could be done. For everyone else, and for them all, this means a better future to come.
Katherine grins as she watches the joy around them after they all learned that they went up against her father-not-father-anymore and won. And she can't help it; she jumps around and squeals in delight too. She's so happy. Right now, she's not even really thinking about writing the story--okay, yes, she is thinking of writing the story, actually, she can see the opening words right now--but now they're only playing as her internal monologue as what she sees with her own eyes is more prominent in her perception of the world in this moment.
There's cheering, shouting, dancing, everything.
Kid Blink and Mush jump up and down, holding hands, cheering, smiles wide. They look so happy together. When they get tired of jumping, they take a moment to catch their breath, and brush noses.
Race and Spot jump up and down together too, shouting "WE DID IT! WE DID IT! WE DID IT!" in each other's faces, eyes lighting up. Then they stop when they're nearly out of breath, thinking about what they must look like, and then double over laughing. The truth is, they don't care what it looks like, and no one is judging anyway. Bent over, they both tilt their heads up and smile appreciatively at each other, staring into each other's eyes, totally content.
David throws his arms around Jack. Jack smiles as David hugs him. He wraps his arms around David. Jack doesn't want to let go of him.
Skittery hoists Tumbler up into the air, smiling fondly at him. "We did it!" Tumbler says in Skittery's ear. "We truly did it!" And that's all Skittery needs right now.
Boots is hoisted onto Bumlets' shoulders, they and Specs and Itey all together, shouting in triumph.
Katherine blushes and averts her eyes as Sarah catches her eye and smiles. Then gathering short-lived courage, she looks again at Sarah and smiles awkwardly. Turns out it's short-lived; she looks away again, embarrassed because she's pretty sure she's not smiling right. But she looks up again, and Sarah is still smiling at her. Katherine allows her smile to grow. Perhaps Sarah doesn't care about that at all. Well, Katherine reasons as she starts walking toward her, only one way to find out.
