"How are you there, Hazel?"
Hazel sighed when she heard the voice on the other line the moment she answered the phone call. It was her mother who called in the middle of office hours.
Inihinto niya muna ang kaniyang ginagawa bago magsalita."I'm good," she answered while tapping on the table.
"So... you already met Mr. Levin Gray?"
She went silent after hearing his name. She doesn't know what to say. Unconsciously, she ended the phone call before putting her phone on the table without saying goodbye to her mom.
She doesn't know why she became like that upon hearing his name. She leaned on her swivel chair and started massaging her temples
Although she understands a few Filipino words, there are some words that she can't comprehend, just like what Race said to her that night.
It's because there was something in his eyes that he wanted to convey before he passed out in front of her.
"Yes, Mrs. Reyes?" Aniya, nakangiti.
"Are you okay, Miss Robertson?" Mrs. Reyes asked, worriedly. "I've been calling you a couple of times, but it seems like you're spacing out."
Her smiled faded when she remembered what she'd been thinking awhile ago.
Hazel, fòcas.
"Yes... I'm okay," she answered, trying to sound cheerful.
"What brings you here, Mrs. Reyes?" She looked at her wristwatch before looking back at Mrs. Reyes. "It's still break time. You must've eaten your lunch.
"I almost forgot. Mr. Gray wants to set a meeting with you," sagot ni Mrs. Reyes.
"With me?" Hazel asked, confusedly.
"Yes, you and him." She replied.
Why would he set a meeting for only us? As far as I remember, there is no reason to have a meeting because everything is fine.
She shook her head."Tell him that he can email me what he wants to talk about. I can't have a meeting with him because I'm running some errands this week. "
"Okay, Miss Robertson." Mrs. Reyes answered. "I'll go now.""Thank you, Mrs. Reyes." She smiled.
She should set boundaries for the men. She hates men.
She chose a Spanish restaurant kaya lang kanina pa siya pa ikot-ikot.
"What happened?" She whispered to herself while trying to start the engine.
After how many tries, she gave up, leaned on the driver's seat, helpless. She looked at her phone when she saw Mrs. Reyes calling. She was just staring at her phone for a second.
She was about to answer the call when she saw a vulcanizing shop beside where the car stopped.
She saw a man was busy fixing the hood of the car. She couldn't see his face, but she still approached him to ask for help.
"Hi, excuse me. Can you help me with my car? My car suddenly stops accelerating while driving."
"Miss Hazel Robertson?"
