Geography, science and French passed by so quickly I was barely able to catch up. I saw Ivy a few times she didn't seem to notice my silence And just babbled about random stuff. My mind wiring. "Oh yeah I wont be with you this lunch time" i suddenly burst out
" on really why you found A new bestie?" She asked sarcastically. "Obviously not no I'm meeting Carter"
She gasped "omg really!" She started jumping up and down in place "yep" I said proudly. She took my shoulders and shook me "oh my gosh Oh my gosh"
"I started jumping up and down as well" and then I caught sight of him walking along the corridor behind us. I blushed he probably saw most of that. As he got closer our eyes locked he smiled his charming angelic smile and winked at me while all his friends where patting him on the back and ooing and ahhing.
The bell that signified the start of lunch made me jump with excitement. I Speed walked to the library and got there only a few minutes after the bell. Carter of course wasn't there yet but I didn't mind I would wait for him. I said a quick hello to the librarian Mrs Pleve was a nice lady and seemed to genuinely care about the students so I liked her. I sat down at one of the tables with a clear view of the door, I knew he would be able to spot me here. I took my book and my bag and turned to the page that I had been reading. I read for four minutes before I heard the library doors open I looked up as Carter caught sight of me. He Confidently marched over to me a huge beautiful smile on his face " hey" he Beamed " hi" I said back blushing again. He sat down next to me his presence made me feel electric and safe at the same time. He Looked over to my book "to kill a mockingbird, classic" he pointed to the cover
"Have you ever read it?" I asked "nope but maybe one day" he smiled and Leaned back in his chair. "Do you wanna get some food?" He questioned his eyes looking at my book and then at the big clock in the wall near the entrance. "Yeah sure where should we go."
"There's a nice little bakery down the street it's called Perry's puddings" he laughed gently as he said the name. Year elevens and six form where allowed to leave the school grounds to eat but not many students actually used this privilege as the school lunches where quite good and cheap. "That sounds lovely" his eyes twinkled at my reply.
He helped me pack my bag and we got up said goodbye to Mrs Pleve.
The bakery was small and warm with cute little fairy lights , the smell was overwhelming sweet and delicious. Plants climbed the walls and a friendly woman stood at the counter. "Hey how can I help you?" She Beamed at us as Carter ducked down to get through the door. "Table for two please" he smiled at me and I blushed. "Right this way"
She lead the way to a little table at the end of the long room surrounded by plants and fairy lights. We sat down opposite each other "here's your Menu's I'll be back in a minute" she walked back over to the counter. "The
Toasties here are really nice" he said to me pointing at the menu. "Yeah ok, can I have the ham and cheese toastie then" I blushed
"Anything to drink?" He looked at my hand and brushed it lightly with his fingers "oh yeah um a lemonade"
"Ok then are you ready to order?" Carter told the lady what we wanted and then she left and we sat opposite each other looking into each others eyes and smiling. We talked about random details of each other's lives "when's your birthday?" He asked genuinely curious "February 9th, you?"
"December 8th" "ok and what's you favourite colour?"
"I like mint green it's nice and cool" i blushed was my answer too deep
"Wow that's lovely, how many pets have you had"
"I've had three cats a dog and when I was thirteen two Guinea pigs" "what about you?"
"Ah well I had a dog but sadly he's not around anymore" his eyes turned sad for a few moments then he looked back to me and smiled. We continued talking until it was nearly two o'clock and we had eaten our food. We strolled down the high street on the way back to the school. He slipped his hand into mine and my entire body buzzed his hands were soft and strong. His veins prominent and comforting. He looked down at me and smiled we stopped walking in front of the school gates. He stood to face me and leaned down to me he gently brushed a loose strand of hair from my face and then he kissed me. I leaned into him and he wrapped his arms around me secure , warm and electrifying.
The bell rung signifying the end of lunch break and he slowly released me. "Meet me here after school"
"I will" I said as I walked through the gates and we went in separate directions.
