Consequences

Good morning| Part 13

'Good morning beautiful' Carter had texted me. I felt giddy As I read it and replied. I was so content I sighed And stretched my armes.
When I got to school Carter was waiting by the gate for me he greeted me with a hug. We weren't as shy with physical contact anymore. He put his arm around my shoulder. I had only known him for a few weeks but I already felt so close to him. We waded through the crowds of people his arm around my shoulders he had to kind of stoop a bit to get his arm around. Our difference in height being about seven inches felt perfect. He walked me to my classroom and then he left to go to his. As soon as I entered the room Ivy was by my side "so are you and Carter like official or what?" She pressed.
"Yeah, yeah we are isn't it amazing" I grinned.
The rest of the day was a blur.
The whole week was a bit of a blur.
A happy blur. A really nice blur.
It was Saturday when my mum called me down to the kitchen.
"Hey honey" she said as she sat at the kitchen island. " hi mum" i said a bit common as to why she called me down here.
"Your dads gonna be coming down from France on Monday for Business he'll be staying with us for the first few days then he's going to stay in a hotel" she sighed. Her and dad weren't on great terms and they never really got over their difference's. Mum usually avoided talking about dad and when she did there was always a layer of anger and tedium. She wouldn't say anything exactly bad about him but she wouldn't compliment him either. She didn't want me to hate him. To be honest I didn't know him well enough to dislike him. He just never really tried to be in my life. Only tried to see me occasionally.
"Oh ok mum are you ok with that though?" I asked her trying to be understanding.
"Yeah I'll be fine he'll be driving to London early anyway also he'll be in the uk for a few weeks then he'll take you back to France with him, so you have a couple extra weeks before you go" she gave me a small smile.
"Ok thanks mum also I kinda have so news"
"Ooo is this good news or bad news?" She cooed.
"I would say very good news" I beamed.
"Ok ok" she was excited.
"Me and Carter are officially together" I practically squealed.
"That's great honey tell Carter he's allowed over whenever, oh yeah and make sure your careful" she smiled and kissed my forehead.
"Thanks mum but we've only been official since Tuesday so.."
"Right Ok but still" she laughed.
