Sunset| Part 14

Sunday Carter came over my house and we decided to watch a movie. It was so cozy snuggled up with him in blankets and a big bowl of fresh sweet popcorn. We chatted and laughed. mum was constantly hovering nearby which was mildly embarrassing but I didn't mind too much. We had lunch and then talked some more. He changed his phone Lock Screen to a photo of me and I did the same for him. Then we went to the beach. We paddled in the sea bought ice creams and threw stones into the water. Finally we both sat on the sand and watched the sun start to set. He gave me his jacket as I had left mine in his car. I leaned into his side. His comforting smell engulfing me and his warmth radiated through me. I was so happy I never wanted this to end. The sky was beautiful shades of pink and orange when he leaned his face down to mine, lifted my chin with his finger and then kissed me.
He drove me home and after he left I fell asleep quickly. The memories of the day slotting into place into my mind. I dreamt of nice things that night.
Monday I woke up and remembered that my dad would be here soon. At about 7am I heard a car pull up into the driveway. It was dads car. I was excited and nervous. I was dressed in my uniform and Ivy would be here at 8:30. The doorbell rang. I rushed down the stairs. And Mum opened the door. There he stood older looking clean shaven and his blond hair greying at the roots. "Hello Michal" mum greeted him. He smiled "good morning" then he looked at me "hello sweetie" he stepped forward and pulled me into a hug. He smelled of sweat and cleaning detergent. "So the house looks great oh and where's Dorothy?" He asked Nana shuffled around the corner. "Michal" said Nana greeting him unfriendly. He tried to give her a hug but she wondered of into the kitchen to put on some tea.
"Your going to be staying in the spare room" i told him.
"Ok sweetheart can you show me where?" He picked up his bag and slung it over his shoulder.

"Who's car was that?" Asked Ivy as we drove to school. "My dads" i said casually.
"Wait what!" She startled "i thought he was in France" she stared at me.
"He's come to the uk for a few weeks until we go back to France" i shrugged. She playfully slapped my shoulder "girl you are supposed to tell me immediately about this kinda thing!" I laughed.
