CHAPTER 18

"Are you sure you're okay  ka na?"

It's been weeks since nag file ako ng leave dahil wala talaga yung energy kong magtrabaho. And today I'm getting ready to go to work. Iniyak ko na ata lahat lahat, wala ng lumalabas na luha. Pinili kong hindi muna pumasok dahil alam kong makikita ko siya.

"Ri, I've said this like five times already. I'm okay na nga" I irritatingly said. She pouted and came closer and hugged me.

"Sungit mo naman babe, malay mo kayo na sa next life HAHAHAHAH" hinampas ko siya sa likod at tiningnan ng masama.

Alam na niyang may gusto ako kay Yuri, Sinabi ko lahat yung mga encounters at pangyayari saming dalawa. Maswerte din ako sa kaniya dahil magaling siyang makinig at hindi niya agad ako hinusgahan. May hinala na daw siya noon pa.

She moved away when her phone rang and immediately turned it off. Nakakapanibago siya, hindi ko narin siya nakitang may ka halikan na mga lalake. Nag bagong buhay na ata talaga siya.

When I got to my office tumambad sa akin si Zedrick na nasa couch. Naalala ko tuloy nung iniwan ko siya sa mall at walang paramdam because I turned my phone off the whole duration of my leave.

"Nicole! You're finally here" he stood up smiling and went for a hug. I hugged him back. "I'm sorry if I got in by myself" napakamot siya sa ulo.

"No it's fine, what brings you here?"

"I missed you, pagkatapos ng lakad natin hindi na tayo nagkausap. I kept visiting you pero your secretary said you're on leave, and I also left some messages pero you don't reply" he said. "Is something wrong?" He worriedly asked.

"Oh, I just needed some rest, sorry if I wasn't able to reply. I've turned my phone off kase" I replied and went to sit on my swivel chair and opened some files. He walked in front of my desk.

"Since you're back, mind if you have dinner with me?" He asked. Well I guess it's fine. "And hang out after? My friend invited me to this party" he continued.

"Sure, I'll have dinner with you pero nakakahiya naman if I'll go to the party uninvited."

"No, my friend knows you, I told him I might bring you with me" he said. Napatango nalang ako, wala eh friends na kami alangan naman tumanggi ako.

Hours passed and it's now time for dinner. My day went good so far, hindi ko siya nakita. Sa cafeteria ako nag lunch with Riri and I was hoping not to see her, good thing hindi siya doon kumain.

When I got in to Zedrick's car sinalubong niya ako ng beso. I was startled when he buckled the seatbelt for me, his face was really close to mine, I thought he was gonna kiss me. I smiled awkwardly at him when he stared at me.

"You're so beautiful, do you know that?" He said. Friends ba talaga kami neto? Oh baka ako lang yung nag iisip na friends kami. May iba talaga eh. I shrugged.

"I don't brag about it" I chuckled.

We arrived at the restaurant at umorder na agad kami. Ang napapansin ko talaga kay Zedrick ay ang napaka expensive niya talagang tignan. The ladies on other table kept eyeing him.

"They're admiring you oh" I told him signalling to the side. He looked to the ladies and smiled. Napatili naman yung mga babae at parang busog na busog dahil nakuntento sa smile ni Zedrick. Landi naman neto.

"Nicole, do you have a boyfriend?" He asked and I shook my head. "Oh, I just thought na baka may magseselos sakin if ever nakita tayo" tumawa ako.

"Hindi talaga ako mahilig sa relationships Zedrick, ayoko ng madaming flings. I date to marry" I replied.
