CHAPTER 21

"Hug me, Nicole"

Hindi ko alam bakit kami magkasama ngayon dito sa eroplano. Ang plano ko ay magbakasyon para mabawas bawasan yung mga problema ko. Ano to?! Bakit kasama ko itong babaeng to?

"Wifey, please" She pleaded with a husky tone and I just looked at her. Why is she so red? I held her forehead and boom she's hot.

I called the stewardess for assistance and they gave me medicine and a fever patch.

"See, look what's happening now" I scoffed while placing the patch "You and your impulsive decisions Yuri" I added with a cold tone.

She opened her eyes and stared at me, we're very close to each other as I fixed the patch. We made eye contact until a tear left her eye. Why?

"I'm sorry" she said with a low voice. More tears flowing down. I wiped her cheeks but the tears just won't stop.

"Shhh, stop crying" I hugged her side "Let's talk later, you need to rest" I added.

While she was asleep, I scrolled through my phone to book a villa in Siargao. I chose Siargao instead of Palawan because it's more secluded at malayo din sa Luzon.

They won't ever have to disturb me. While I was looking for villas, Yuri's phone vibrated. To think that there is no signal, I checked it. It's an online message, she was able to ask the wifi pala kanina.

It's from kuya

'Hon, where are you? We can't find Nicole. Magkasama ba kayo? Please bring her to me. Dad's furious, Mom won't stop crying, and Ricky fought with his dad.'

I chuckled sarcastically, how dare they find me? I can't with their decisions. Mga bastos, nangingialam pa ng buhay. Lahat nalang ginagawang negosyo. Now, I regret going here. I really should've stayed in New York, araw-araw in peace life ko doon.

Moments later, we landed in butuan. Yuri's state was better compared to earlier pero she's still sick. She was assisted by the attendants while I was carrying the baggage.

I also rented a van with a driver na din because I'm too tired to even drive. When we got out the departure area, may sumalubong saming guy in his late 30s. He's the one driving us, so he carried my luggage. And we went inside the van.

"Are you feeling better? hmm?" I asked and she nodded. "It will be a long ride, you want to drink medicine muna para hindi ka mahilo?" She just nodded again. I think she's tired to even talk. I asked the driver to have a drive-thru muna kase wala pang mga laman tiyan namin.

We arrived at the port at dawn, walang byahe until 6 am, so we just waited 1 hour. I also updated the villa since sila yung mag susundo samin pagdating namin sa Siargao. I noticed kanina pa si Yuri humahawak sa kamay ko. She doesn't let go, also we're the only passengers na nandito.

She leans into my shoulder.

"Nicole, thank you" she said softly.

"For what?" I replied

"For letting me escape the busy world" She said. "Life hasn't been great ever since, but when you came, you didn't fail to make me heart jump in joy. To you, my vulnerability naturally comes out" she said while caressing my hand.

"I'm sorry, for causing u lots of trouble. Soon, you'll realize why I'm doing this" she added. I just nodded in agreement because I don't know what to say.

Sana nga Yuri, I hope this all comes down to a good ending. I'm tired of heartaches and a life full of drama. I just wanna live on an island and spend time with the ocean.

Bumyahe na agad kami at exactly 6:30 dahil marami rami nadin yung pasahero. When we got to the island, we were approached by two people. I supposed they're from the villa.

"Good Morning, mga ma'am. Kayo po ba si Nicole Austria?" The girl asked and I nodded. She then motioned us to the black van na may nakalagay na name sa villa.

I look at Yuri who's been admiring the beautiful nature in the window seat. I can see how genuinely in peace she is.

For now, I just want her to find her real happiness. I can really observe that she's putting a mask on with everyone she encounters. She pretends she's strong but deep inside she still a child needed to be loved.

While mesmerizing the beautiful greens of nature, I can't help to think about what will happen when we go back. Should we go back? I know It'll be different than before. Bahala na I'll worry about it soon, wag na muna ngayon dahil hinahanap ko peace of mind ko.

I felt something poking in my cheek. I opened my eyes, I didn't know I fell asleep. Yuri's poking my cheek while smiling.

"We're here na, wifey" she said. Can she stop with that callsign? Ginagawa niya akong kabit.

I went out the van and was amazed by how amazing the villa was. It's exclusive at medyo malayo din sa main road. It has its own pool and malaki din yung loob. I'm in love with the interior design.

"Ma'am iiwan ko na po kayo, tumawag lang po kayo sa telephone kung may kailangan kayo." The lady said. She also gave us the keys and the rented scooter. She also gave us a map of each tourist spot. They then went out the villa.

I saw Yuri sitting down on the floor with her back leaned on the king sized bed.

"Why are you there? Sa bed ka umupo" I said. Ngayon ko lang din napansin iisa lang yung kama. Yuri just stared at me, I came close and held her forehead. Hindi naman na siya mainit.

"Are you okay? What's bothering you?" I asked worried. Parang kanina lang ang saya saya niya. She didn't answer me and continued to zone out.

"I'm gonna cook breakfast muna, what do you want ba?" She didn't respond again. I stood up and went to the kitchen. There are supplies ready for cooking na.

After cooking I called her to eat but she didn't respond again. I'm getting frustrated na. If she won't eat I won't force her. I started to eat but got guilty so I went to her and brought the food with me.

"I'm gonna feed you whether you like it or not" I sat down and scooped the food and placed it to her mouth. Her mouth remained shut and just looked at me. "Please eat, you're not fully healed pa. Anytime, babalik yung fever mo"

"I know, I'm not a doctor for nothing" she said coldly. Wow, I've had enough. I'm too tired to even argue with her. I stood up and placed the food on the table.

"I've had enough Yuri" I exclaimed. "I'm no psychic, I do not know what goes inside your damn head! So please, just tell me you want to be alone, then I'll book another villa."
