During the time hanging out with her friend, Selena laid her head on the table upset that she had to move away from the mountains filled with geodes to go live in the town area. She was never too fond of the town area because for her it's not as fabulous as finding things in the forest or being in nature. Although Terry seemed to be alright with the arrangement, at least temporarily because he was finding small job opportunities for painting, money wasn't a challenge, especially when shared with her.
Compromising between them is beginning to feel normal, but of course, compromise doesn't always mean both parties would be happy. Her friends started to notice the pattern that she seemed to not be too happy about her relationship.
"I thought you got a boyfriend? Isn't that a great thing to move in with him?" Scar asked.
"It just tiring to move stuff around right and left, we haven't finished going through half of those boxes."
"So, are you going to stop chasing Terry?" Emily got excited, but Selena just raised her head with a disappointed face, "no."
Her two best friends still have yet to know about their relationship. It's very hard for them to even publicise it considering the entire college would be against them, especially hearing the news that Selena was pushing him off the edge of the crowd. It became like a college meme, some people would spread it online as a template.
Luckily, there was El, she managed to dissipate the drama by distracting the rest, though she felt like this would be the last time she even decide to help Sel. It's starting to become annoying to her to help clean out some of her mess.
"Selena, you know that you are becoming the campus big talk right?"
"I don't care."
El sighed, taking a sip from her drink. Although Emily being interested in Selena's drama wanted to hear more, she had another question for Selena, "if you don't mind, like really don't mind, who is this boyfriend you are talking about? Is he hot?"
"I don't know, is your boyfriend hot?"
"Oi, Selena," El interrupted, she sighed, stirring with a straw, "the only thing that worries me is that she doesn't look like she's getting into the girlfriend mood."
"What's that?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Like have you seen those kinds of rom-com nowadays? Where the girl would start changing herself from plain to gorgeous?"
"El, I don't know what you've been watching, but I don't think it happens in real life."
The three girls just stared at her worried, realising that she definitely won't change, after all, Selena had a look of determination on her face. Being stubborn was probably the biggest personality trait about her.
"At least dress up better for him, you know, get make-up, do your hair, things like that, I am sure he'll appreciate it."
She just stared blankly at those other girls, and Emily started bringing up a topic about a celebrity scandal. Sitting opposite her at the table made her feel like an outsider, it felt as if she was staring at them through a glass wall, she understood that she was quite the oddball compared to the others.
Though as she looked at how Emily had always had the most gorgeous earrings and dresses, she felt the need to be like her. She felt that it would make her be loved by others more, or at least by Terry.
It didn't take long for her to run to the nearest convenience store to buy a fashion magazine and run back home, as she opened the door loudly, causing Terry who was unpacking to be startled. "Welcome back--"
