Wilbur stared at the mashed potatoes on his plate.  Technoblade and Tommy had brought their dinners to his room so he could stay in bed, but they could still have a family dinner.

Jschlatt had disappeared a while ago.

"So Wilbur, anything coming back to you," Techno asked.

"How do you not remember the fucking devil!  He almost killed us!"

"Tommy, stop cursing so much," Wilbur chastised.  "And no, I don't remember a single thing."

Wilbur felt bad lying to his brothers, but it was purely to protect them.  The threats that Jschlatt made seemed too detailed to be meaningless.

"Wilby, what if we go back to the church?  Maybe if we recreate the situation you'll remember," Tommy shouted happily.

"What if we just go to the church?  Tommy was talking about how 'the devil made all of the chairs blow up.'  Maybe we could prove that the 'devil' wasn't there," Technoblade suggested.

"I don't know if you remember or not, but it's quite a struggle for me to stand," Wilbur said.

Tommy laughed, while Technoblade shook his head.

"I can help with that.  Or do you just want me to just take him myself," Techno asked.

"You two should go.  Maybe he should see that the devil hasn't attacked him or anything."

"Hey, Satan would be honored to be in my presence!"

"That's not something to be happy about," Techno laughed.

"Just get out of my room," Wilbur groaned.

Techno sighed and grabbed the dishes, and led Tommy out of the room.  Wilbur laid back down, and stared at his ceiling.

Techno grabbed Tommy and hoisted his younger brother up on his shoulders.

"Techno, why do we need to go to the church?  I know what I saw!  You can ask the gods, they see everything!"

"Tommy, you did not see the devil.  You gotta see that whatever you saw wasn't real, and isn't a threat."

"Are you saying the devil is fake?  Then you'd be claiming that the gods are fake, and so are the primes.  That's pretty bad," Tommy said.

"That's blasphemous.  The gods are real, you just didn't see Satan."

"Why don't you believe me," Tommy asked quietly.

"Because you're a kid.  What would the devil even do with you?  Besides, you have an overactive imagination for a kid your age, and seeing something like an ancient deity seems like a bit of stretch," Technoblade explained.

"But you'll believe me when you see the church, right?"

"Sure.  If the benches look out of place or like they've been on fire, I'll believe you."

Technoblade continued to carry Tommy on his shoulders the rest of the way to the church.  Tommy played with the pink hair, weaving small braids throughout, despite Techno's many protests.

When the got to the church, Techno set Tom on the ground, and entered the building first.  The statues of the three gods loomed overhead, but nothing seemed out of place.

Tommy began to run around the church, not believing what he was seeing.

He had seen the fires blazing through the windows!  He had heard his brother coughing and struggle to take in air!  He had seen the seat fly over to the door to block their exit!

And he could still remember the demonic cackles that rang through the room, clear as day!

So what happened?  Why did everything look so perfect?!

"Oh, sister Puffy, we didn't expect to see you here," Technoblade greeted.

"Oh, hello boys!  I must say, it's a pleasure to see you!  Do you require any assistance?"

"No.  Tommy here swore he saw the devil here last night, so I'm just showing him that nothing really happened," Techno explained.

"Oh.  Well, what happened," Puffy asked the younger boy.

"The devil showed up," Tommy exclaimed.  "He was mad about something, and tried to trap us!  Then the chairs exploded, and Wilbur managed to get me out, but now he doesn't remember anything!"

Puffy's face paled, and and she took off a necklace.  There were golden and purple beads across the string, and a shard of purple glass acting like a charm.

"This is a blessed item," she told the boy.  "Wear it, and no demon, not even the devil will dare attack you."

She placed the necklace around his neck, and looked up to his older brother.

"Father Sam and I came in this morning and all of the benches were out of place, covered in soot and ash.  I think we now have a reason why.  Keep this boy safe, do you hear me," she demanded.

"Wait, you can't possibly think that's whats going on, right?  What would the devil even want with him, he's just some random kid!"

"We never know the motives of higher beings.  Just keep your eye on your brothers, I fear you may be in danger."
