Wilbur got out of bed, surprisingly refreshed. He felt like he could take on the world!
"WILBY," a voice screeched.
Nevermind.
"WILBY, TECHNOBLADE NEEDS HELP IN HIS GARDEN," Tommy screamed.
Wilbur sighed and threw on some clothing that was laying on the floor, and trudged out of his room.
"I want to help," he heard Tommy whine.
"No kid. Go clean your room."
Then he saw Tommy walk up to his room, grumbling the whole way.
"Hey Tech. Toms said you needed my help," Wilbur said.
"Look, Wil," Techno began. "I need to go away for a little while."
"What? What are you talking about?"
"I need to go. Think of it as an adventure. I don't know when I'm coming back, but I need to leave."
"Technoblade, you cannot leave! What about Tommy? What about me?!"
"Wilbur," Techno sighed. "I need to do this. I love you, and will never stop loving you. You two are my brothers. Nothing could ever change that. But this is something I need to do."
Techno looked at the patch of dirt, and reached his hand in. He pulled out a potato, and handed it to Wilbur.
"In the case I don't come back, take care of the garden for me, okay?"
Wilbur didn't respond. He sprinted inside. He ran right up to his room, only to see a familiar ram demon sitting on his unmade bed.
"Well hello there Wilbur," Jschlatt greeted.
"What do you want Jonathan," Wilbur asked.
Tears pricked at the waterline of his eyes, yet he refused to let them fall. He wouldn't let his emotions show. His face was flushed and red, and his eyes were bloodshot.
Even though Wilbur refused to let the tears fall, it was easy to see that he was upset.
Jschlatt stood up, and cupped Wilbur's cheek.
"Tell me what's wrong," he demanded.
"Techno- he, he... he- he's leaving-"
Jschlatt pulled Wilbur into a hug, catching the human by surprise. The demon cradled him, and he felt safe.
"Technoblade's leaving us, what if he never comes back," Wilbur asked.
Thats when Wilbur finally began to cry. The devil began to wipe away the tears, but they kept coming.
Soon there was a knock on the door, and Jschlatt disappeared. Technoblade walked in, with a backpack and a sword strapped to his side. He held in axe in one hand, and the other held the doorknob.
"I think I twisted a little too hard," he joked.
Wilbur just looked at him.
"Look, I need to do this. For you and Thomas. It's because I love you," he told Wilbur.
Wilbur practically jumped on him, enveloping his older brother in a hug.
"Please don't go," he begged. "I can't do this without you."
"Hey, you'll be okay," Techno reassured. "Just remember to protect Tommy, and follow my wishes about the garden. If I come home and it's overgrown, I'll know who to murder."
Wilbur giggled, and Technoblade gave him a little squeeze.
"You'll be okay bro. You can do it. I believe in you."
With that, Technoblade released the hug, and walked off. Wilbur heard the front door open and close, and Tommy sprinted to his room.
"Where's Techno going," he asked.
"Techno gets to go on a great adventure. He's going to be a hero when he returns, and live forever in legends."
"Wilby, is he leaving us like dad?"
"No, no, of course not. He loves us, he didn't want to leave. But he had to. Here, let's go get some potatoes, I don't think he ever finished out there."
Tommy looked down and walked away sadly. Wilbur empathized with him. But Techno said he was leaving because he loved them.
Outside of the house, Technoblade took one last look at his childhood home. He could see the silhouettes of his brothers in their bedroom windows.
"Goodbye for now," he whispered.
Rest in peace Technoblade. You will be missed by millions, remembered as a hero, and live forever as a legend.
Fuck cancer. You deserved better.
