That day I stayed home and rested while Brooks packed for our honey moon. We were going to a small camping ground along the Manning Vally. I had spent the day either on the lounge or following Brooks around, I felt so lost, not use to not having a million and one things to do.

The nights have been cold out here as they were in most winters and I had burnt most of the chopped wood whilst Brooks was gone and by the end of a day I didn't have the time or energy to split more. So that's what Brooks and I spent the afternoon doing.

I touched the wood with the end of the block splitter before raising it above my head and forcing a strengthened blow to the log sending a crack down its side.
"You know I use to split wood with my dad," I said reminiscing about my childhood.

"Is that so?" Brooks asked with a raised brow.

I nodded, "Yep, and when I was 8 and dad was teaching how to use the block splitter, it use to take me at least 20 minutes to split one, and most of the time dad would have to split it anyways, but it was always with one or two hits. I use to tell him that one day I would be able to do that just like him," I said laughing lightly, visualizing the memory, "you know what he said?" I asked Brooks

"No, what did he say?" Brooks said softly.

"He said the man you marry wont be to impressed to be beaten by a girl," I said as a I added the final blow to the log, splitting it down the middle. Brooks just laughed and came over to hug me from behind.
"And let me guess, you told him that your future husband can suck it up," he whispered in my ear.

"Sure did," I grinned.

He let go shaking his head smiling and went back over to chopping his wood. We spend the rest of the afternoon splitting wood. Joe and Sarah were coming to watch the place when we went for the honeymoon.

That night it was quite, it felt good to have Brooks by my side again. I slept like a baby snuggled up keeping warm, and surprisingly his strong arm held me all night.

The next morning we were up early to finish the packing, around 10 Joe and Sarah showed up.

"Morning," said Joe as he made it to the door. Brooks and I broke apart from a heated kiss and I jumped down off the table.

"Morning," Brooks said trying to fix up his messy hair as he walked over to Joe.

"All ready to go?" Sarah asked softly as she walked over to me.

I nodded lightly, "Brooks just gotta put our bags in and we are ready to go."

Sarah smiled in return before looking at the ground, "Look Audrey, its bout your uncle. He was a little to excited about coming back to look after this place, he misses the wide open spaces and our 50 acres just isn't cutting it for him any more and I'm just worried about his well bei-"

I cut her off, "you guys are welcome back anytime, it was your place before ours, you can move back in if you would like."

"Truly?" she asked and I nodded, " I mean I wouldn't want invade, I mean you and Brooks are just married and you'll be starting a family soon."

"Look if it really bothers you, you can stay in the barn whilst we do up the old homestead that way you wont be invading and when Brooks need help he will have some one," I said smiling excited by my new idea, I missed Joe so much not that I had really had time to think or even call.

Sarah hugged me so tight, "thank you so much, Joe will be so happy."

"But would that make you happy?" I asked her, worried about her view on it all.
