Chaos

Art Fight hasn't even started yet and I'm already making half-finished art left and right PLUS completely starting over on Rewritten 😭

Some stuff from my sketchbook ^
The second picture is almost entirely filled with Rewritten characters.
The only two things that aren't characters are the dragon hand holding the feather (we don't talk abt that), and the eye which I actually really like.

This is actually from a while ago, I was just testing out designs. I'll probably be using the top left and middle in Rewritten, maybe the top right, but the bottom left is definitely going to be an important character. I'm working on her slightly altered design in a pride art piece that will hopefully be finished soon.

So I redesigned Eclipse again, because they're the main character and nothing is ever good enough for them in my mind :')
But I'm actually really satisfied with their new design, and I think it matches Sapphire's really well, at least in complexity.

I also changed Reed from a Water Drolgon to an Air Drolgon. I really didn't want to; I loved his previous design, with the shark tail and everything. And I miss the sail along his spine.
But I needed him to be an Air Drolgon, because that's the only way he can fit into the story.
I don't want to say too much yet in case I decide to change things again, but what I'm planning so far is that the story won't revolve so much around Eclipse. We don't need another "I don't really like the spotlight but I guess I'll effortlessly save the world" kind of protagonist.
The dragons are going to play a much bigger role now, and I mean MUCH bigger.
And luckily I actually figured out a good story for Sapphire, so she won't be so sweet and helpless anymore. I've always wanted Saph to play a bigger role in the story, but I didn't know how when Eclipse was the main focus. I find that backing away from Eclipse a little helped a lot.
I still don't know how the middle and end of the story will go, but I'm going to figure that out before writing too many official chapters.
Which sadly means that I probably won't post any chapters here for a while.
But I think it might really improve the story, because I can keep going back and changing it.
Also, if you guys have anything you'd like to see in Rewritten, please tell me! :)

Anyway, I've still got so much art to do before June ends and in preparation of Art Fight (by that I mean ref sheets of my characters).
