"Have you found anything yet?"

Clemont glanced up from his computer in irritation to see Serena standing there, looking extremely nervous. Immediately, Clemont tried to hide his annoyance at being interrupted. "No," he sighed, pushing his glasses up on the bridge of his nose. "Whatever caused the tremor, it's not showing up on any of the scientist's reports anywhere! It's like no one knew that it was coming. But that doesn't make any sense! Lumiose City never has earthquakes! Let alone one of this magnitude!"

Serena, noticing the frustration written all over his face, put a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Actually..." Clemont's eyes lit up. "There is. Officer Jenny is required to write down anything that comes in and out of the city that could be considered suspicious. Now, I'm not sure but, if this wasn't due to natural causes..." he took a breath, unsure whether or not to reveal his suspicions to her. "That means it must have originated from somewhere within the city."

"And you want to try and figure out what it might be," Serena finished, nodding knowingly.

"Right." He smiled.

"Okay, then! I'll go do that!"

"Hey, Clemont! Is there anything I can...YIPE!" Ash appeared around the corner to the blond's lab and was nearly bowled over by Serena as she dashed out the door. "Serena!" he called after her. "What's the hurry?"

"Sorry, Ash," Clemont said, returning his attention to his monitor. "I think that was my fault. I asked Serena to go check with Officer Jenny."

"Ahhh, I see. No apology needed," Ash said, wandering in to stare at the words and numbers flashing across the screen with a blank expression on his face. It wasn't hard to see that all of the codes and equations were too much for his brain to comprehend.

"Erm...Ash?" Clemont could hear his friend still standing there. "Could you do something for me?"

"Um...yeah!" Ash said, pulling himself out of his algebraic haze. "Of course!"

"Great!" Clemont shoved a pile of papers into Ash's hands. The boy staggered underneath the weight. "These need to go to Professor Sycamore immediately and--"

"No need to hurry!" came a call from the entrance to the gym. The boys spun around to see a tall man in perhaps his late thirties with a very bad shaved beginning of a beard appear around the doorway. He waved and laughed, spotting Ash about to topple over with all of the notes and diagrams.

"Here," the Professor chuckled, taking them from a startled Ash. "Let me help you."

"Phew!" Ash breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks so much, Professor!"

"Professor Sycamore!" Clemont called, hurrying out of the lab to join them. "Hello! Welcome! What are you doing here if you don't mind me asking?"

"I heard you were doing some research on the earthquake. And since I was just passing by, I thought I'd stop and see if you'd made any progress. By the look of things," He held up the stack, "I'll say you made a lot of progress!"

"Wait...how did you..."

"I bumped into Serena on the way," the Professor laughed. "She seemed like she was in quite a hurry."

Clemont facepalmed while Ash laughed nervously and sweat-dropped. Bonnie stuck her head around the corner to the battlefield. "What's all the noise in here?" she demanded. "We're trying to train!"

"Dede...nne!" the mouse-like pokemon squeaked, poking its head out of her bag, cheeks sparkling with electricity in annoyance.

Professor Sycamore laughed. "I think that was my fault, Bonnie," he said kindly. "It seems I caused quite a ruckus. So, Ash," he added, turning back to the raven-haired boy. "How is the Alola Region?"
