At the time of Clemont's announcement, Bonnie was standing behind him, being shielded by both a protective-looking Elizabeth and a fearful Serena. And even though she couldn't see his face, she felt the determination that was pouring through the inventor's very being. This was her brother, no matter what form he was in. Hasent may have been a part of who he was, but Clemont was who he'd become. And Bonnie doubted even this could change that.
"You want to fight?" Takito hissed, extending to his full height to tower over them. "Fine. Let's fight." His eyes suddenly flashed and he threw out a talon, revealing six ominous-looking poke balls. "And I'll just leave some of my friends here for the rest of you to deal with, should any of you think to try and be so clever and intervene." With that, he snapped open his wings and, with one strong beat, took off into the sky.
"Clemont?" Bonnie whimpered, noticing the Pokemon moving threateningly toward them. Her brother turned to face them, but focused his attention on her. It was easy to tell he was forcing a smile.
"Don't worry, Bonnie," he growled. "I won't let anything happen to you. I'm going to stop Takito. Serena," he twisted his gaze to the Performer. "Please look after Bonnie one more time."
"Always," the honey blond responded. For a moment, silent agreement seemed to pass between them. No words were needed. They both understood the unsaid part of Clemont's request.
"All right then. Ash," Clemont straightened up and turned his attention to the raven-haired boy. "You are the strongest trainer I know. Please watch out for everybody."
"Count on it, Clemont!" Ash gave him a thumbs-up.
"Elizabeth," the inventor continued, taking a deep breath. "I think I know how to beat Takito." He handed her back the poke ball. She looked at it and then at him in confusion. "Just be ready when I give the signal."
She stared at him, tears in her eyes. "I will," she promised. "But...what are you planning to do?"
"You'll see." With that, he sprang into the air after Takito.
"CLEM--" Bonnie began only to be cut off by Ash.
"Clemont's smart," he told her. "He's got this. He can handle himself. We need to focus on the battle down here and let him do his thing."
"Uh...all right!" Bonnie stood up taller, noticing Dedenne as it stumbled across the balcony toward them. "Dedenne! Luxray!" she called. The mouse paused and Luxray lifted its head wearily at her call. "I need your help! Luxray, I know I am not your trainer but I've been watching Clemont for years. If you trust me, I'd like us to battle together, okay?
"Ray?" it tilted its head slightly and grinned. "Lux--ray!"
"Great!" Serena called. "Braixen, get ready! We've got to keep these Pokemon distracted! Use Hidden Power!"
"Braix...BRAIXEN!" The glowing orbs of light flew at the gathering group of Pokemon. A Liepard sprang into the air to dodge and a ball of purple lightning appeared in its jaws. Serena saw what it was immediately.
"Braixen, that's Shadow Ball! Dodge it, quick!"
"Braix!" Throwing itself into one of it's performance moves, Braixen gracefully cartwheeled back out of the way, landing firmly the ground next to Luxray.
"Great job!" Serena shouted. "Bonnie, your turn!"
"Right! Luxray, use Thunderfang! And Dedenne, use Thundershock!"
"Dedededennneee!"
"LUX...RAY!"
The two electric-type Pokemon lunged into action. Dedenne launched its attack at the Liepard who was still in midair and had nowhere to run. Meanwhile, Luxray dove for the next nearest Pokemon-- a Gengar that had been trying to use Shadow Sneak on Pikachu.
