Jealousy

Around 4pm Eddie and I were woken up by a knock on the door. He put his arm over me as we cautiously headed towards the door.

As soon as we unlocked it Dustin shoved the door which knocked Eddie and I back.

"Ooo, you guys should really watch where you're going," Dustin laughed at us.

We just rolled our eyes playfully.

Behind Dustin came Steve, Robin, and Max.

"So how have you guys been holding up?," Robin asked.

"G-," we got cut off.

"Must be pretty romantic being in a life or death situation, I heard that really brings people together," Steve joked, making Robin shove him.

I blushed a little and looked down.

"Ignore him," Robin said.

"We are planning on going to the gate tomorrow," Dustin said.

"Okay," I said.

"Just be prepared, it's dangerous," he said.

"We know," Eddie replied, patting Dustin on his back.

After a while of catching up and laughing around Dustin led his friends out the door and Steve was the last to follow.

As I went to shut the door behind them Steve stopped me.

"Hey when all this is over, would u maybe like to hangout sometime?" He asked.

I felt my cheeks turn red. Steve Harrington was asking me to hang out with him.

I didn't think much of it and thought it would be fun to be friends with Steve so I said, "I'll think about it," and smiled at him as I shut the door.

I turned to see Eddie watching a movie so I went down to sit next to him.

EDDIE POV:

As Dustin and his other friends left Y/n went to shut the door behind them. So, while she was doing so, I went to put on a movie to waste some time. As i'm putting the movie in I see Steve stop y/n before shutting the door all the way.

I couldn't make out everything they were saying but there was a certain sentence that made my heart fall to my stomach.

"Hey when all this is over, would u maybe like to hangout sometime?" He asked y/n.

Did he like her? How could I have been so blind. Although from what i've seen and heard about him, I concluded Harrington was a douche, I couldn't deny that he was pretty attractive, Y/n could probably see that too.

What if she says yes and forgets all about me? What if she regrets telling me she likes me?
What if she falls in love with him?

I felt myself start to panic, but there was one feeling that was the most overpowering. Jealousy.

I let the movie play as I went to sit back down and made sure to listen close for y/n's reply.

"I'll think about it," she said.

She smiled. Shit. It's over for me.

As she headed back over towards me I made sure it looked like I was paying no attention to the twos previous conversation but instead the movie.

After a little while I turned over and tried to go to sleep while also trying to convince myself that Steve and Y/n just wanted to hang out as friends.

Eventually, I fell asleep.

Y/n's POV:

For the first time since we had been hiding from the cops, Eddie fell asleep without the two of us having to comfort each other, which I thought was weird but played it off as him being too tired to function; considering we stayed up all night.

A few more moments passed before I too fell asleep.
