PETE:

I was awakened by the hard knock of the bathroom door. Then in my ears echoed footsteps and happy whistling. I felt pain, my head was throbbing mercilessly and my throat was dry like a desert. I didn't open my eyes, and yet the sharp rays of the sun hit my eyelids with incredible force. How I regretted drinking yesterday. I could settle for two or three shots, but Porsche kept pouring me alcohol and somehow I couldn't refuse him. Something clicked and I began to pray, feeling nauseous approaching.

- Drink this - the voice asked, pressing the cool glass into my hand.

I put it to my mouth quickly and poured liquid down my throat. How wonderful it was to taste plain water. I breathed a sigh of relief, but was still afraid to open my eyes. I knew who came to my rescue and the events of last night flickered in my head creating a pile of bizarre scenes.

- Thank you - I just moved my mouth without really making a sound, then felt the mattress buckle against the edge.

The cold material fell over my forehead, and I groaned with joy. This was what I needed. The hot head wasn't throbbing as much as before, so I opened my eyes with difficulty, squinting against the light.

- Turn it off - I asked, whispering, and Vegas laughed softly.

I felt his laugh echoing in my head, as if at least he had put a megaphone to his lips.

- Don't scream - I grabbed his hand, squeezing it tighter while he clicked on pilot, which pulled back the curtains.

I breathed a breath, lying in the twilight again. I opened my eyes wider, trying to see Vegas's face hidden in the shadows. He looked at me anxiously, then pulled his hand out of mine and gently rubbed my temple.

- Don't stop - I moved my mouth again, though no sound came out.

- I have to leave soon - he said softly, and I frowned. - Kinn "asked" me for a meeting.

His voice changed with word "asked" and I realized it was not at invitation but an order. I nodded hesitantly, took his hand from my forehead and kissed the middle of it gently.

- Should I ask for food for you? - he got up from the bed.

When I heard him, I shuddered, feeling yesterday's fluids build up in my throat. I quickly denied any food, then, with a groan, turned my head, pressing it against the pillow. I felt Vegas's lips touch the tip of it and he once again chuckled.

- I'll be back as soon as possible - he promised, and soon enough was gone.

I stayed there for a while, barely alive, until I finally decided to get up. I slowly made my way to the bathroom, took care of all my needs, and took a long, cold shower.

When I finally got out of there, I felt so much better. I still didn't feel like eating, but I was able to walk freely again and my head wasn't throbbing as if it was about to explode. My little victory today. I smirked as I walked over to Vegas's office. I was still smiling when my gaze fell on his laptop. The words of Porsche rumbled in my head.
