I lock my gaze with the most excruciating blue eyes I have ever seen. The world around me stops, I don't think I have ever seen a shade of blue this electric. He's looking at me, dead in the eyes, with an expression I can hardly read. He's dressed in an off-green suit with a blood-red tie, looking godly as ever. I suddenly realize the situation we are in and look away.

"So y/n tell me, how has business among these streets been for you?" says the mayor of the city. Fat old man with 29 murder cases on him.

"Ah yes you know, same old same old, nothing new just watching men do all the dirty work for me," I say pridefully watching his expression turned hard.

"I have a son who seems quite interested in you. Please be a sweetheart and accompany him tonight"

"Sorry Mr mayor. Maybe next time. I have to fleet. Goodnight"

With that, I leave the ball filled with rich people. Nothing but snobs. Greedy and disgusting. As I go to the bar for a drink, I spot the elegant blue-eyed man sitting there staring at his drink. I sit next to him and tell the bartender to give me my usual.

"Don't like rich places either?" the mysterious guy spoke.

I stop breathing to process the words that come out of his beautiful mouth. His voice seems to roughed up and deep.

"Hate them. Absolutely," I say coming back to my senses.

"Why does everyone want money? why couldn't they pray for better things? like world peace"

"They sit on their chairs ordering people all day and enjoy their riches. This world is too cruel" I answered sadly.

"What do you do? if you don't mind me asking of course"

"I work for an international post mail company," I say happily.

"That's bold for a woman to achieve, considering the hungry pigs you are always surrounded with"

"Ahh, it's whatever. you get used to it I guess"

He's looking straight at me as if he's debating on asking me something.

"Care for a dance?" he asks with his hand out. I stare at his hand debating although I end up agreeing almost instantly.

"Of course your majesty," I say sarcastically

As we go onto the dance floor, he holds my hand in his gloved one while his other hand rests ever so delicately on my hip. He swings me around swiftly and softly. He is looking straight into my eyes. No words were exchanged, just eyesight.

"Your eyes are so beautiful" I whisper. He leans in closer as my breath and stops.

"Your lips are so beautiful" I look at him with the slightest blush on my face.

I desperately try to change the topic. I don't think I've ever seen a man this angelic before but I am sure of it, if I don't push him away, I'll end up hurting myself, just like it happened all these many years.

"I have never seen you around before. Are you new in the neighborhood?"

"Yeah actually. I just moved here because of my work ethic"

"Interesting. What do you do for a living if you don't mind me asking"

"I am a psychiatrist"

"That's a great field. You like helping people?"

He takes some time to answer. He looks so deep in thought. Almost as if he remembers something deep. dark and painful perhaps.

"Yeah, I do actually..."

"That's wonderful. There aren't many people with the heart to do that in this time and period"

"Thank you," he says with a smile that looks genuine. "Very daring of you to take a place like that in this world. I can tell you must be the devoted and stubborn kind...just my type" he whispers the last part.

I feel giddy. I feel praised and strong. Accepted rather. Coming from a man in this society. I can't help but appreciate his words.

He continues staring at me until suddenly the lights go on and I come back to my senses, creating a bit of space between us.

"Names Loid. Loid Forger by the way" he says as he leaves the most delicate kiss on my knuckles. My breath hitches on the contact of his soft lips on my skin. Enough to spark fireworks and dirty thoughts.

"Y/n. Y/n l/n"

"well, I hope to cross paths with you again miss l/n"

oh.

"Yeah, same here Mr. Forger," I say whatever comes to my mind. Just as he leaves there is a tap on my shoulder.

"Looking beautiful as ever darling"

"What do you want Hatake?" I say in the most boring tone ever, desperately wanting to walk away.

"You know what I want. My dad says he's very fond of you"

"oh yeah? me or my money?" I ask bitterly. His eyes darken at my question and he squeezes my shoulder uncomfortably.

"When we get married, you won't have to work anymore darling. I'll take care of the two of us"

"Tell yourself and your dad, I can take care of myself better than you ever will," I say looking dead straight into his eyes.

With that, I finish this conversation walking away with my head held high.

I take a taxi home just wanting to get rid of these clothes. I lay on my bed wanting to reminisce the dance with Loid again and again and again until I fall asleep. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll see it in my dreams.
