The day of the boring fancy ball finally arrives. This day gives me the good and the bad tingles. Hatake ended up asking me to the ball and I accepted, part being because it's not that I knew someone I could go with. I keep my make-up to a minimum and put on the long ball gown which does justice to my boobs, my waist, and my neck.

I wonder if I'll meet Loid there.

Hatake

I am outside.

I grab my heels and my purse making it to the patio to see Hatake dressed elegant and expensive. He waits outside his car and smiles as his eyes fall on mine. He extends his gloved hands in an attempt to hold mine as he places a gentle kiss on my knuckles.

"Don't you look gorgeous Y/n"

I ignore Hatake rolling my eyes at him as I get seated in his car. I sigh softly not wanting to witness this day at all.

"So are you excited to attend the ball?" he starts a small conversation.

"No"

"Are you excited to meet your daddy dearest?"

"Hatake," I say sternly. Implying that I do not want to converse with him anymore.

"Sorry just trying to make conversation darling"

The rest of the ride was quiet, with faint music playing in the background. We finally reach the venue after a few twists and turns. We get out of his car, our arms intertwined. We show the invitation to the security as we enter the hall.

I was right. The huge chandelier, men laughing obnoxiously loud, women tittering over diamonds and dresses, it all feels too familiar. Hatake takes me to a table with old men with cigars and suits screaming money.

"Well, who is this young beauty?" One old man on the table asks.

"My, my she seems beautiful," says old man two.

"Very young and lively," says old man three.

"Excuse me gentlemen, but could you refrain from talking about my date like that please," Hatake says after clearing his throat.

Those gross men mumble something as I roll my eyes and leave the table. I go seat at the bar hoping nobody would follow me as I order something to chug down. Mostly alcohol. I stare at my drink deeply, so consumed in thought that I don't even realize someone coming a sitting next to me.

"You look lovely"

I turn to look in the way of that voice thinking it was another old man.

Oh, how wrong I was.

"Loid?" I almost ask, too scared if it wasn't real. I knew it.

"Hello pretty. What brings you here this fine evening?" he asks.

"oh you know, met galas and balls and charity for bullshit reasons. As if they even care about the unfortunate"

"Well I came hoping to see you here"

"Yeah?" I almost ask, equally shocked and thrilled.

"Yeah. I came with a woman because I was honestly forced to. But part of me thought you'd come, and you came"

The announcer starts the ball by calling official couples down for a dance. I take good advantage of this opportunity.

"Hey, Loid do you want to take this dan-"

"Hey Loidyy"

I get interrupted by a woman,  a beautiful woman. Blonde hair, blue eyes, diamonds, pink nails, big boobs.
