This Is War

Today is a rainy day. The sky is darkening and the menancing clouds are throwing their tears on the muddy ground.

There were dead bodies everywhere and everything was dark and covered in blood.

Soldiers were fighting and dying. One after another.

Without any mercy they were killing each other. Without feeling anything or thinking anything other than fear and pain. Maybe even hatred...

Somewhere far away you could hear desperate screams and pleads, but then all that was left,  was silence.

In this cold world, this hopeless land and scared people, who needed a war?

Who needed pain and suffering?

Wasn't it enough...? Maybe it wasn't.

After a while, when the sun decided it was time to shine again and wash away the yesterday's sorrows, that's when it all settled down.

No more screams echoing on the battlefield, no more fighting, no more cries, just a very disturbing silence.

That for a single moment. Because it's time to mourn the ones that are now lost. The ones that are gone.

And for what? Was it even worth it...?

Anyway, I believe that far away from all the heartaches, where there is no rivalry, no such thing as suffering, where the bloody moon doesn't shine upon the dead ones and where there is no pain; somewhere where the sun is shining, where friends help each other, where children play together and people eat happily at the same table, there I hope everyone will find themselves a place.

Because no one wants this kind of war.
