After gathering some clothes and other random items you threw into your bag without thought, you and Pakunoda got the cats into the car and she started driving. Neither of you were speaking and the atmosphere started to feel smothering to you.

"Gosh this is so awkward.." you broke the silence.

"It's not awkward for me." She turned her head looking at you.

"Eyes on the road." You pushed her face away.

"Oh please I could drive in my sleep." She rolled her eyes.

"Just keep your eyes off me. I'm embarrassed."

"What? Why?"

"Because I threw a tantrum and attacked you." You hid your face with your hands.

"Within good reason though. You were scared."

"I still am. Are you sure we're not being followed?" You half turned around in your seat to watch out the back window.

"I'm almost positive."

"Almost?!"

"Don't worry, when you're with me You will always be safe. I'll protect you with my life."

"Yeah but is that enough? How can you be sure he's not stronger than you?"

"Excuse you?" She furrowed her brows, displeased with your lack of faith in her.

"Yes yes you're a big bad Phantom Troupe member I know but.. things that I can't explain keep happening and I don't understand how he does it, I was so scared you were going to die- I'm still scared I- I don't know where he is or when he's coming and it scared me so much that I ended up hurting you." Tears started streaming down your face once again, you felt overwhelmed with guilt. You acted like the very person you were afraid of. "I put my hands on you- I kicked you and screamed at you! I can't forgive myself. For fucks sake I'm just like him."

Pakunoda's eyes widened, she instantly pulled over the car and shifted her full attention to you.

"Don't say that. You're nothing like him. He manipulated and abused you. He threatened my life, you were trying to do all you could to protect me. You weren't abusing me you were trying to save me."

"I still shouldn't have! You still read the letter anyway so I was just hurting you for no reason. You probably have bruises from me." Your voice cracked as you spoke through your tears. Hearing the pain in your voice broke Pakunoda.

"You're going to make me cry again." She grabbed your head and pulled you into her chest. "Come on you know I'm no stranger to a few bumps and bruises. Besides if it wasn't such a traumatic situation I would have been turned on from you hitting me." She tried to be a little more light hearted to calm you down.

"Shut up." You chuckled. "I'm supposed to traumatized right now don't make me think of such indecent things." You pinched her leg.

"Oww." She grabbed your hand and smiled. "But it's distracting you isn't it?"

"Helloooo psycho ex boyfriend on the loose. We shouldn't be distracted right now."

"I'm not afraid of him. My top priority is your mental health."

"But how can you be sure he isn't following us?"

"I'm using my Nen."

"Nen? What's that?"

"We have a lot to talk about but let's wait until we get to our destination okay."

"Where are we even going?" You questioned, wiping away your tears.
