The shadows of people stood over you, the only things being visible to you was their eyes that glared at you. They whispered your name continuously:
"Y/n, Y/n.." They said. It started growing louder and their whispers became shouts. You jumped up, awoke suddenly. It was a dream. Shit, you thought. I must've fallen asleep in class..
"Glad to know you've joined up, y/n." Your class laughs as you notice that your teacher was the one saying your name, and your face heated up in embarrassment and a bit of anger. The bell rang as you were about to apologize, and you sighed.
"Next time get some more rest, okay?"
"Tch. Easy for you to say," you muttered as you walked out of the classroom. It was normal for you to barely get any sleep, or none at all, as you always had a lot going on. Every day. Luckily, it was Friday, and that meant you'd get a nice, relaxing weekend.
Or so you thought.

"...Evicted..?" You were standing in front of what used to be your apartment door, and you saw a note on it that had a letter on it. You were getting kicked out of your apartment.
Fairly ticked off, you stormed out of the apartment building with your luggage before flipping off the building and continuing down the road.
You eventually made it to a new apartment building, and going inside and getting a room. Once you made it inside, you decided to settle in and get your things unpacked. As you were pulling everything out, you realized you still had the bear plushie you got from your ex a few months back. It was in a little secret pocket, so you weren't surprised that it was still there, but you still needed to throw it away or something. After a moment of thought, you decided it needed something a little bit more extra than being thrown away.

Once you made it to the rooftop, you pulled out the dumb toy and waved to it before releasing it, as if it'd respond. You smiled to yourself for a moment before hearing a yelp from below. Kind of concerned, you peeked over the rooftop edge to see a man standing riiight where you dropped it. Just my damn luck, you thought to yourself before the man looked up and saw you. You waved and gave him an apologetic smile, yelling "Sorry," before he sighed and gave you a thumbs up as a sign that he was fine. You exhaled in relief, deciding now was a good time to get back to your apartment room.
You'd made it back, and you closed your door behind you. Noticing that it was getting late, 8:33 PM, you reluctantly pushed yourself to get ready for sleep. You headed to the bathroom first, using mouthwash and before you were able to spit it out, you looked in the mirror and saw a figure behind you. It was very tall, with a long beak that floated above an.. outfit.. that was covered in bandages. It was right behind you, too, so your first instinct was to pull the pocket knife out that you always had, and flip around and point it at the bird-skeleton thing. You originally thought it was a hallucination, since you had schizophrenia and this was a bit normal, although you occasionally freak out anyways. You find out that it in fact was not as you tapped the birds head with your knife and found out that it was.. real. As in, a small "tap" sound was made when you tapped it.
"Shit," you said aloud, quickly flipping around, setting the knife on the edge of the sink, and pulling out your pills from the cabinet. You turned the sink on and used a handful of water to drink down your pills, and turned around to find that it was phasing through the floor. Your body became less tense as your concern went down, assuming that it worked.
Now calm, you quickly headed to bed before some other weird creature thing appeared near you.

You woke up in a cold sweat, majorly because you had the same dream, for the millionth time. You still didn't know what it meant, since all the information you had about it currently was that there was some random shadow people who said your name or, sometimes, gave you random ass advice. Either way, you didn't know, nor care.
After eating some breakfast, you decided it'd be time to introduce yourself to your neighbors, since you were bored and had nothing to do.
And besides, you weren't going to introduce yourself to the entire apartment, just the people that were to the left, or right of you. First, you decided to introduce yourself to your left next door neighbor, and you knocked on the door, a bit reluctant. A man with brown, curly hair opened the door. You paused for a while, trying to figure out where you saw him from, but you just decided to ignore it.
"Heeeello there, name's y/n y/l/n, and I just wanted to meet some people, so- hello." You held your hand out for a second, cringing at yourself after realizing that was a bit dorky, and you set your hand down quickly.
"Oh! Nice you meet you, y/n. Names Steven. I'm guessing your new here, so how's it so far?"
"Pretty good, to be honest."
"Glad to hear, mate! Also, if you mind me asking, why did you drop a stuffed animal on my head last night?"
You wanted to kick yourself when finally figuring out that he was the poor, innocent man that had a teddy bear get thrown on his head. "Sorry, I was just getting rid of it since I don't need, or want it anymore..it's a long story." You stood still for a moment, feeling stupid for wanting to throw a teddy bear off of the roof in the first place.
"It's fine. Anyway, nice meeting you..-" stevens voice trailed off in your mind and you saw the same bird creature, standing above his shoulder. You backed up slowly, hitting the wall with your back.
"You alright?..." You could finally focus on what Steven was saying, and as much as you wanted to alert him over the supposed danger standing right behind him, you couldn't. Why was it following you? What did it want? Questions flooded your mind as you tried to point at it, but it phased through the wall and walked up to you. It kneeled down and stared at you for a quick second, its beak almost touching the bridge of your nose.
It suddenly phased through the floor, again, and you let out a sigh of relief as you looked back to Steven, half expecting him to look concerned or confused, but he looked a bit shocked, which also made sense.
"Well, Ihopeyouhaveagreatdaybye!" He said in a jumble of words and closed his door.
"...huh." You paused for a second, realizing you just made a fool out of yourself. You concluded to yourself that maybe you shouldn't go meet other people in the apartments, and walked back to your dorm in defeat.
You flopped on the bed and screamed in your pillow in embarrassment until you fell into a short nap
