It was the same odd dream that you had that night. Well, that's what you expected when you saw those odd shadow people. Something was different this time, though. This time, you could clearly see the people. They all looked like the same man, with shoulder-length hair and a calm expression on his face. He held a staff that had a purple-ish glow coming from the top, which he covered with his hand. Something else was different, too. They were saying something other than your name.
"You need to follow her instruction. She will save us all." They demanded. You didn't even know who in the slightest this person was, he just wanted you to listen to her, for whatever reason.
"I can't listen to nothing, she doesn't give me any instruction at all," You spoke up, and he stopped. He didn't answer you, but they started to say your name again and hid in the darkness. Back to square one, you thought. Over their voices, you could hear something new. A grumbling, or growling of some kind. It was coming from in front of you, and as you squinted in an attempt to see what was going on there, you couldn't find anything. Or, that was, until a hand reached out grabbed at you.
You yelped, jolting up in your bed. Thankful that it was over, you started getting ready for school. You just threw the first few things you could find: A white t-shirt with your favorite band name on it, and a black undershirt with long sleeves and a collar. You also threw on some ripped jeans that somehow still fit you. Last, you put on some random necklace you found in your jewelry that you completely forgot about until now.
You grabbed your backpack before checking that you had everything and nodding to yourself once you knew that you were ready. After locking your door and heading down the staircase, you walked outside to find Khonshu standing there, waiting for you.
"What are you doing here?" You said, speaking in a low tone in case someone heard you and thought you were crazy for talking to the air.
"Maybe I just felt like giving the small worm child some company." He concluded, walking by your side. You smiled softly, glad to know that he was with you by choice. It was a short silence while you passed through the park next to the apartment building. It was calm, and so were you, until Khonshu interrupted your thoughts.
"How does school work for humans, anyways? We never had that sort of thing." He stared at the school building that was getting close to you.
"Well, its normal. We have the average classes, lunch is in the middle of everything, and our elective class is the second class for most people." You counted using your fingers while you both crossed the street.
"Boring and plain. Our school would be better."
"Yeah, if you had one." You mumbled, looking up at him.
"Aw, look! The freak is hallucinating again!" A new voice said. It was Gabriel, and he acted about as shitty as you average stereotypical bully. He picked on everyone for any reason possible, and it really pissed you off. So, you ended up defending a lot of the people that he bullied, which didn't help it on your part. Now, you're basically his main target.
Instead of even looking at him, you just flipped him off and kept walking. He scoffed in return, and you could tell by the way Khonshu was looking at you, he was genuinely taken by surprise from your sudden confidence.
"Are you going to go now?" You mumble, opening your locker and getting the things you needed for your first class, to which he responded with a wave goodbye and a phasing through the roof. Walking to class, you dropped your books on your desk, cringing to yourself when it was a bit too loud and you gained some glances from other people in your class.
"Alright, everyone, settle down," Your teacher spoke up, despite the class being fairly quiet. "We have someone new joining us today, so be on your best behavior around her so she gets a good first impression." She nodded to the door, where you saw a girl walk in. You had to keep your hand under your jaw to keep from it dropping. She was... beautiful. Her hair was platinum blonde, and it draped almost perfectly over her shoulders, as if made of water. The part of her hair that wasn't down was in a low ponytail. Her outfit was pretty moderate: It consisted of a white sweater with a blue cloud in the middle, and her light blue plaid skirt had a length that was just about in between long and short. Freckles covered her face and arms.
