My mom was driving to Cousins Beach to get away from my dad for the summer. The air was fresh, the view was beautiful it was something I'd never seen before. I looked at my mom and I can see that we might have a good time here. That was before she said something.
"You know why we are here?" she says looking at me quickly and then looking back at the road.
Of course, I know why. It's not that hard, It's just whatever happened to all three of us, me and my mom need a break from him. Maybe a divorce? "Yeah" Playing with my fingers.
FLASHBACK
my friend drop me off at my house and I thanked him for driving me to my house. before I entered my house I heard yelling. walking to the window and seeing my dad yelling at my mom about her not being how she used to be.
"What happened to you! you're not like how you were ages ago?!" banging his hands on the table.
"Nothing happened, I'm just not feeling good." my mom says calmly, walking to the door, and closing the door behind me. I heard my dad say something I thought he would never do.
"You cheated on mom?" I said standing where the entrance of the kitchen is, my eyes started to get watery. he's turning to see me, once we made eye contact I couldn't look at him.
he walked toward me but I push him away. "You might as well tell her, Ben. like how you told me right now." I hear him taking a sigh.
"Cass-" he began but I cut him off.
"No! you don't get to call me that anymore," I yell at him which is something I've never done before.
"Yes, I cheated on your mom," he whispered.
I was lost... can't process this. this is brutal I walked backward going straight to my room.

END OF FLASHBACK
"Cassie?" my mom speaks taking me out of my thoughts. "what?" I say In a cold tone.
"I know this is hard but your dad left us for a nice, beautiful lady." I roll my eyes.
"I don't understand why! You're nice, beautiful, and you get along with everyone?" Defending her.
We stayed quiet and I pulled down the window the wind blowing my hair I smiled thinking I might a great summer here.
We arrive at the beach house that I and my mom are going to stay in. It was nice. We took out our things and a couple of boxes and we layed them where they are supposed to be.
I went outside following the path, it took me to the beach. Looking round to see it lovely, walking back to the backyard. There were fences that separate me and the neighbors.
"Cassie! take your things and put them in your room." Running back inside took my things, walking up the stairs. Opening the door and seeing my room, I liked it there was a picture of the oceans, and shells on the desks.
Taking out my clothes putting them in the drawer.
FinallyI finished! Walking down seeing my mom resting on the sofa. "You've finished?" she asks. Nodding my head laying my body on the wall. "Can I go out and explore??" hoping she says yes.
"Yeah but don't come late, your coming to the book store tomorrow with me." Reminding me. "Ughh, okay." Heading out to town. So many stores but what I mostly liked was how the beach looked like.
Going to the dock where you can see the ocean better. The sun was setting down and I began to leave since people were leaving. Once I was off the dock people were pushing me that I bumped Into someone.
"I'm so sorry, people were pushing me." I say, looking up to see a boy with dark golden hair, and blue eyes. "It's okay," He says and leaves me alone. I went back home.
I saw my mom sleeping on the sofa, grabbing the cover next to her. Putting it on top of her kissing the top of her head. Going to my room Pulling out my phone from my pants.
Texting Katie to see how was her day. She replied back saying it was boring as always. I told Katie how beautiful it is and that she should come over to visit.

I walked down to the kitchen to get a bottle of water. Tip toeing to my room laying in my bed going through Instagram. Seeing my friends post, they looked like they had a great time.
Locking my phone laying it on the nightstand. Morning came and I walked down to see my mom making breakfast, it smelled so good that it made my mouth watered. "Morning, Cassie" She said smiling.
"Morning," I said back we both sat down and ate breakfast. "Oh get changed your coming to the book store with me." I groan, she shakes me by the shoulder. "Please, you might meet someone there." Laughing at her but getting up, throwing my plate to the dishes.
"Ok, just let me change." Walking out of the kitchen, brushing my teeth, changing into some white crop-top with light blue jeans and with black shoes. "Cassie! Let's go!" Running meeting my mom on the car.
Once we arrive at the book store I sat down getting on phone. While my mom was talking to a lady about something. Looking out the window to see some guys laughing with their friends.
I suddenly got bored that I got off the table and interrupted my mom conversation.
"Mom, I'm leaving. I'm bored so I'm going out for a walk." She kisses my head and I know that's a yes.
