I woke up and looked around the room, remembered that we had gone to Ava's house. The look on Conrad's face still pains me.

Hearing the door knock. "Come in." Pushing the covers away from me. Ava comes in and sits on the bed. "How are you feeling?" Laying her hand in my lap.

"I'm not so sure anymore. A lot happened yesterday." I tell her while she gives me a worried look.

"You're welcome to stay here as long as you want. Also, you know he cares about you." I nod my head as I know who she talking about.

Buzz

I hear my phone buzz and bend over to the stand that's next to the bed. Opening the message from an unknown number.

Unknown

Cassie this is Beverly's mother and I just
Wanted to apologize for what she did.
I know what she did WAS not okay. Yes
I'm mad at her, she's grounded. I'm going
To talk to her and send her to her aunt
And maybe see if her aunt can fix her.
But mostly I'm giving you a check so
You buy all your stuff that Beverly
destroyed.

I finished reading the message that she sent me. After I saw it I got a notification saying I got $2,000 in my bank. I was in shock that she sent me that much money.

I show my phone to Ava so she can see what I see. "Wow, she must feel really bad." And she's right. "Yeah, I guess she does."

I get up from the bed and walk to the bathroom to do my thing and brush my teeth. "Cassie I'm gonna go out later so you have the house to yourself," Ava shouts as she leaves the guest room to make breakfast.

Looking at myself in the mirror to know my eyes are puffy red from crying last night. I did not bring anything with me so I wet my face and tried to find some eye drops.

Walking out from the bathroom leaving the bedroom to go and help Ava. I hear some chatting in the kitchen.

"Cass?" I stop and can't move like my feet were frozen. "Jere?" Gazing back at Ava and Jeremiah. He gets up and runs to hug me. "Don't be mad at me but I had to bring him here," Ava says as she exits the kitchen and has breakfast ready.

I didn't hug him back and he let go since I didn't hug back. "Please Cass come home. Your mom is worried." Funny how he didn't mention Conrad.

He cups both of my cheeks. "Your dad left yesterday so you won't see him anymore." How about forever? "No," I say. Moving his hands away.

"What?" He whispers. "Why did your brother have to lie to me? He didn't fucking told me that he and Beverly were a thing." I shout at him. Jere knew the one thing I hated the most was liars.

"I don't know Cass but you can fucking ask him. Be honest with him. Tell him how you feel about him. You know I love you as my sister." Jeremiah comes and grabs my hands.

"Did you know they were together?" I see him looking down. My eyes started to water. "You knew and you didn't tell me." My voice cracked. "Were they still together when I first met him?" I needed to know.

He pulled me close to him and I cried. "Yes." He whispered.

"Why Jere, why did you keep this from me?" I felt his lips close to my ear and he whispered.

"I didn't want to tell you. I thought he was gonna tell you. And when Beverly arrives here at cousins I thought you knew and then I noticed that you didn't. And I told him that he needed to tell you before it got worse."
