The next morning Eli, Michelle, Finn, Jessica and Wendy were all awake before everyone else. Dan's dad had fallen asleep knowing that he would not have to watch over the bus anymore. "Hey, guys. Come here." Eli whispered. The three other walked to where he was standing.
"Is Jasper spooning Dan?" Michelle noted.
"I knew he was gay." Wendy said with pride. "He seemed gay the second that I met him."
"Well, we cannot say anything." Jessica said. "We don't know how upset he might get."
"Let's at least get a picture for if he ever realizes that he's gay." Finn said as he walked over with a phone in his hand. *Click*. "They definitely look like a couple in this."
"I hope Jasper realizes that he's gay. I'd love to see them date each other." Eli said. "Oh shit." He lowered his voice as everyone moved away from them. Dan began to shift and open his eyes to the sun that was breaking through the window.
"Oh, that was probably just a dream." He said to himself with a tired voice. When his eyes were fully opened he realized that the alien invasion was in fact not a dream. "Well shit." Still in the grasp of Jasper's arms he shifted to see the five other kids watching them. "What are you guys looking at?" He asked confused.
"Jasper's spooning you." Wendy said bluntly.
"Wha-." He felt the arms surrounding his stomach, and he turned around to see Jasper's body curled around him. Dan slipped from his grips, obviously showing some embarrassment.
"Don't be embarrassed. I think he likes you. Haven't you seen the way he looks at you. You two seem like you would be the best boyfriends in the world!" Wendy began telling Dan.
"But he said he's not gay. Why should I force him to like me. Besides, he's Christian so he thinks he's gonna go to hell if he is gay."
"Does he play any sports?" Wendy asked.
"Baseball."
"See he loves to play with balls! Fuck god and the homophobia he brings." Wendy said aloud. At the sound of 'Fuck god' Jasper opened his eyes and questioned who did it. Wendy replied, "I said 'Fuck god'. He's ruining the possibility of you and Dan being in a relationship together."
Jessica chimed in, "Alright, I think we've had enough of this conversation. We should get something to eat, we have a long day of planting ahead of us." The group stopped talking about the potential for a relationship between Dan and Jasper and grabbed food to eat. While they sat to eat Jasper moved further away from Dan then he usually would, and he was less vocal in the conversations.
He thought to himself, 'Can they stop talking about my sexuality? I keep telling them I'm straight.' He decided to say a prayer. 'Dear God, I would never betray you. I'd never engage in homosexual activities, and I'll never be in a relationship with another man. The others can do whatever they want, it's their decision if they want to go to hell to live with Satan. I hope you bring me to heaven God.' He finished his prayer doing the cross over his body. He continued eating the dry cereal, knowing that this was how his life was going to be. Alone, with nine other people in a forest, surviving an alien invasion.
