They continued requesting to go to the playground daily and the amount of aliens who escorted them eventually dropped down to three, a number low enough that they would be able to defeat them. "We all got the plan right?" Jessica asked.
"One more time...please?" Wendy asked.
"Ok." Jessica sighed and rolled her eyes. "So when we go back, we gang up on the three aliens and grab their guns, then we kill them and try to escape this place. Understand?"
"Yes."
"Now let's blow this popsicle stand." Jessica said as the aliens called to them. The group gave each other a look of reassurance that they were capable of the task they had to complete. The aliens began guiding them out of the room and towards the room they were held in as if it was a normal day. "Twenty two." Jessica called out. Jasper, Dan, and Dan's dad went after one, Jessica, Wendy, Mr.Moor, and Ms.Moor went after another, and Michelle, Finn, and Eli went after the last. They managed to pull the guns off of the aliens, cornering them so they wouldn't be able to escape.
Jasper holding a gun commanded them, "Who here is willing to show us where the contraband room is? Raise your hand." None of the aliens budged. "No one? Well then, shall I play a game of enie, meanie, miney, mo?" The aliens faces began to show fear not knowing what he meant. "Eanie, meanie, miney, mo. Catch a tiger by the toe. If he hollers let him go. Eanie, meanie, miney, mo." Jasper raised the gun he held aiming it at the central alien. "Goodbye." He pulled the trigger creating a green ring which cut through the alien, making it drop dead to the floor. "Now you two." He played another round, ending with the loser to his right. He launched another green ring killing the alien. "You. Now." The alien rose to their feet leading the group to where they held all the weapons and tools that they took from the captives. Jessica had regained her aluminum foil, and the others had regained their tools.
Wendy grabbed a gun and held it towards the alien. "Thanks for your service," and shot it.
"Everyone, come here." Jessica held the aluminum foil in her hand.
"Babe, what the fuck are we supposed to do with that?"
Jessica stood up, "Make shields. Remember when we were in the bus? The alien shot at the metal and it bounced off so, hopefully..." she said lowering her breath at the last word. "This will reflect the rings that are shot out of the guns."
"Oh my god you're a genius!" Eli said.
"You can tell me that later. Right now we need to escape this place." They started creating their shields with the foil making holes to stick the guns through so they would be able to shoot the aliens safely.
"We ready to go?" Jasper asked the group who were growing paler in their complexion.
"Yep. I guess so..." Dan answered with his soul leaving his eyes. The group left the room and started searching the ship for anyone who could be able to get them back home to Earth and call off the invasion.Every once in a while they'd come across an alien but they had no trouble with taking them down. "How much longer?" Michelle said while panting.
"Is that a map?" Ms.Moor pointed at something carved into a wall.
"I think it is." Mr.Moor answered his wife. "But I don't understand any of it."
"Well we must be the star, right?" Finn suggested.
"Makes sense to me." Wendy said.
"Step aside and let me see." Jessica tried squeezing in between them. "So if we are here, we must need to get to here," she pointed at a shape that somewhat resembled a crown. "So we'll need to go through here." She pointed at a shape similar to the guns they acquired. "And that probably means an armory."
"Well shit." Jasper said.
"Hey. We got this. We've made it this far, we've killed so many and left loved ones behind. So help me if you give up now do you know how much you've waisted? How much you'll be taking from everyone else? Pull yourself together and let's work as a team." Wendy bluntly told Jasper as she held her hand out saying, "Hands in."
They all shouted, "1, 2, 3, LETS GO!" They turned in the direction which they needed to go when they saw an alien, gun cocked and aimed at them. The alien pulled the trigger letting a green ring release. It was of time had slowed. The group watched as the ring came barreling towards them, and they stood frozen in fear. It hit Jasper, cutting through his skin, flesh, and bones. He fell to his knees, grasping at the hole that was now through his body. The cored part of his body fell out onto the ground, allowing for his blood to run out of him. Dan came to his side as he began to fade, clutching him in his arms. Jaspers body went weak as Dan cried, covering his face with tears. Wendy grabbed a gun aimed it at the alien and released a hail of green rings. With every ring launched she took a step and sent another, causing the alien to have dozens of places where it was cored out.
"No...no...no. This isn't real." Dan managed to get out as he sobbed.
Jasper reached his hand out and caressed Dan's cheek, "I love you." He said before his hand fell limp, and his head rolled back over Dan's arm. Everyone watched the sad scene, holding each other waiting to see what happens next.
They stood for a few minutes then Dan rose, "Let's kill us some fucking aliens." Anger has consumed him, ridding him of the sadness he had felt and replacing it for a yearning to kill the ones who had killed his lover.
