Chapter 3.5 (SANEMI'S POV)

I was bored. I barely noticed he shifted his head. He's awake.. I looked at him.

"You're up?" I grumbled. I hoped he didn't hear me singing. That would be showing weakness.

"Mhm.. why are you carrying me?"
Idiot question.

"Bringing you back to the corps"

"I can walk back by myself."
I growled a bit. I'm not letting him faint and become demon food.

"After watching you faint? Hell, no. Anyways, how'd ya faint?"
I tried to seem cold. Just like I was doing this for his sake only

"Fell.. outta a tree. At least that's what I'm guessing."
Pain related. Knew it.

"Hm."

"Sanemi?"
I looked up as my face flushed. He called me by my name.

"Don't call me that."

"Shinazugawa?"

I cooled off.
"Better, what?"

He blanked out for a moment before responding.

"Why were you following me?"
What was I going to say? I was worried? That would make me sound like I like him.

"I wasn't."
I lied. But he saw right through me.

"Liar."

I mumbled.

"I won't tell you."

"Fine."
Good.

After a hot minute he randomly leaned into me and closed his eyes. He's sleeping. I told myself.

I mumbled under my breath so anything that was around me couldn't hear.
"Damn it, I fall fast."
It was true. I felt myself blush. This is probably the first and hopefully the last time I will say this to myself...
