Third POV 

Y/N and Mike had been best friends since middle school always watching movies and playing games at the arcade along with Dustin, Lucas and Will, and then once Eleven came into the picture you were tossed aside like a piece of trash. El didn't have much liking towards you as soon as you met, she had constantly given you glares across the room and claimed you were taking Mike away from her. 

As you all started your first year of high school you watched as everyone sat laughing Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max and Eleven, you sat over in the far corner of the cafeteria watching people chatter with their friends while you sat by yourself with your headphones on. You don't have much contact with the group anymore besides Dustin cause he was in all your classes this year, you watched as Mike slung his arm over El's shoulder and kissed her cheek, you wished that I was you instead of her.

*After Lunch*

While walking down the hall to your math class you heard someone calling your name, "Y/N, Y/n wait up!" as you turned around you found Dustin walking up to you, "What's up Dustin?" you replied in an annoyed tone, "Hello to you too, anyway umm the group was gonna go to the arcade tonight for games and pizza do you want to come?", you let out a sigh "yeah no, I don't think that's a good idea, Eleven literally hates me so I'd rather not be in her presence", Dustin gave you a weird look as to say really that's bullshit " I seriously doubt that Y/n, just come and you'll see that she doesn't,", you rolled your eyes and gave in, " fine but only for an hour", "yay!" Dustin cheered as you both went on to Math.

2 hours later you walked into the arcade finding Dustine waiting for you at the door, "Hey, you came, great let's go" before you could say anything he grabbed your wrist and pulled you along to the table where everyone sat, "Hey guys, guess who I bought", he said as you finally reached the table, "Hey y/n" Will said as he got up and gave you a hug, you missed Will's hugs, he always was like a brother to you as well as Dustin, they were your closeted friends after Mike forgot about you.  As you looked around the table you met a death glare from Eleven and hey's and smiles from everyone else, you found the whole group there except for Mike who soon appeared with Pizza not long after, he gave you an awkward smile when he saw you and sat back down next to El who was still sending glares at you.

*1 hour later* 

After finishing Pizza and games, you had gotten sick of Mike and Els kissing and cuddling and decided to leave "Hey Dustin, I think I'm gonna go", "what nooooo", he whined as you got up out of your chair "please stay, please, please, please stay", he whined as you walked away, "no I'm going home, bye", as you got up to leave you felt a hand on your wrist, "Wait, Y/n I'll walk you out", Mike said letting go of your wrist, "oh ok", as you both begin to walk towards the door you said your last goodbyes to everyone at the table only receiving a glare from Eleven.

As you and Mike sat outside the arcade you could feel the tension building, I guess that's what happens when you haven't talked in a while, "y/n?" mike said looking at you, "yes" you replied making eye contact with him, " what happened to us, we use to be so close", you let out a sigh at his words, "you started going out with El that's what happened" you said looking away from him, "what do you mean I started going out with El?", he said in an offensive tone, you had finally stood up and glared at him, "Mike as soon as you met El, you tossed me your best friend aside like a piece of trash", you said your voice getting louder with each word, "I did not toss you aside", he said in a defensive done, you had given up and went to walk off, "No, you don't get to walk away" mike yelled, "Damn right I do, you walked away from me when I needed you, you left me and went with Eleven, you chose a random girl with powers over your best friend, I'm the one who was there for you when Will went missing, she wasn't, I'm the one who loved you even when you were with El, so yes Mike I get to walk away", you screamed at him as tears started to fall down your face, "you love me?", he said as he looked at your tear stained face, "yeah I do mike I always thought you belonged with me,but you chose her, so it doesn't matter", as you went to walk away Mike pulled you back, "I love you too y/n", he said as he pulled you into a longing kiss, "I'll be back, I have to go break up with El and you're right I do belong with you".
